Various reasons. Peters left because he is a keeper and was behind Harry Nielsen, Warren was captain of our Premiership Ray Sutton team and did not want to leave, but keepers do that a bit for opportunity.

Harry then a season later was offered A Grade keeper at Woodville, was going to be in our B's, so reluctantly left. Ironically, this meant Warren was then stuck in B's as keeper for couple of years (now playing as batter only when Harry plays).

MCDowall was happy playing B's, we wanted him to push for A's, but he said he did not want to. Woodville targeted him this year as needed another bowler, so he ended up leaving.

And Gutsche is a whole another story! Was in our Country zone, through our squads, but the Dad requested a clearance, said he played for Woodville and wanted his son to follow in his footsteps. Fair enough request, so we cleared him, only to find out soon after this was not true, and he had never played for them. Club was not impressed!

So all different reasons, chuck in four or five others at other clubs now, but you can't fit them all in to your A Grade side.

His Dad may not have played for Woodville, but his uncle or second cousin Michael certainly played for TTG and Port Adelaide (late 80s, early 90s).

My mail is Nielsen would have stayed if he was picked in the seniors when he was 16 instead of making him play another season in the 16s? That could go down as bad management? Pretty sure also with Mcdowal wasn't getting picked in the Agrade (which is the opposite to what you are saying) so Woodville swooped. Gutsche Grandfather on his mothers side played for Woodville ;)
I think Torrens have a few issues in keeping players which is a bigger issue than Woodville giving players more opportunities......

We get it Eagles2014, you don't like Woodville.
When one of WT's 'gun' junior players makes 200, let us know.

In fact, when West Torrens win another game let us know - it's been about 5 months hasn't it?

Would have been a great game to watch obviously a very good wicket over there.
A couple of teams (Glenelg, Kensington

Just stating facts C Horse, they can't make finals.

While it's unlikely they will make finals, they still could.
So you aren't stating facts.

A fact is, that a team who has won one game for the season can't make finals.
Should be a good Mad Monday at Henley, they've been planning it since November.

You supplying the drinks for that one too Eagles?

Very unfortunate what the 3 clubs are going through but your a very sad and bitter little man Weagle with a strange take on the truth, we could have had 2 of them but they picked Woodville, I think a few more of your players live in other neighbour clubs zones, you surely don't help your troubled club on this forum, we get it you don't like Woodville but like many clubs they have produced some super players and like many clubs made very good players out of so called fringe players from other clubs, it's how all clubs including your club operate, if players want to leave you and become very good players elsewhere quit bitching and look in the mirror.

Does the Grade Cricket Committee have any say or do anything regarding the situation Port, Woodville and Torrens are in? What does the Grade Cricket Committee actually do besides periodic minor adjustments of bylaws?

Nope. This is being handled by the SACA board.

Grade Cricket Committee handles the bylaws, disciplinary matters (the panel is made up of GC members and directed by GC) and clearance disputes.

Nielsen was the year he was going into Seniors. Woodville's long serving keeper Cameron was going to retire and they offered Harry the position, at the time we had Adam Crosthwaite so he left to play A's. Fair enough.

McDowall did not want to play A's. As I have said before (and got bagged for saying on public forum - even though it is fact), Olly did not even want to bat in A Grade net against A Grade bowlers, said he was happy to play B's. That was his choice, we wanted him to play A's. I like Olly, good lad, he would confirm this.

Need all four teams (Southerns, Kensington, Glenelg and Uni) all to lose, good luck with that one!!

Might see you at the same pub for Mad Monday - same result!

Was just explaining why those players left to go to Woodville, that's all.

They are all factual accounts of what happened, no bending the truth like you suggest, would love to know which part you think is not true!

I reckon 2 of the 4 will happen:

TTG to beat Uni
ET to beat Glenelg

However, tough ask for Port to beat Kensington and Adelaide to defeat SD...

Any feedback from the presentations to the SACA Board last night?

Guessing there would be no chance of a decision before this weekend.....

A couple of teams (Glenelg, Kensington) will be kicking themselves today.
What an amazing final round we have in store with 7 teams shooting for 3 spots.

WT develop more "gun" juniors than most clubs.

Just look at Woodville, they develop no one! Just look at the three Woodville players who have won Rising Star nominations this year, all three from West Torrens (Warren Peters, Oliver McDowall and Blake Gutsche), and chuck in Harry Nielsen and we have supplied most of their team.

And drop the "gun" junior from A grade to 16 Reds , hope he enjoys playing junior finals, oops not elgible

That is significant.
My mail is that he was opposed to cutting a team so by stepping down do we assume that SACA are actually going to go through with this?

I didn't think they'd actually pull the trigger to be honest.
