First 3/6 was Reserves Vs Reserves

CD 1.0 3.1 12.7
WWT 6.2 9.8 9.8

Next 3/6 League Vs League.

CD 4.1 4.4 8.5
WWT 3.0 7.1 9.2

The score board split the game in to two matches.

New out of bounds ruling very confusing to spectators as well as umpires. Several instances where either the field or boundary umpire overruled the other.

For the Eagles, not playing were: Thompson, Von Bertouch, Jarrad, Wundke, Lewis, Goldsworthy and Rowntree.

Joe Sinor was most probably best for the Eagles. He ran all day and kicked superbly. Giles Ellis was explosive early on (4 top marks in the first couple of minutes to repel attacks) and continued through out the match to be very consistent. Mark Borholm gave 100% as usual, but did his best work leading up the ground and taking numerous marks. Jack Gaffney a first gamer showed some encouraging signs and tried to use his pace to advantage, ended up kicking two goals. Nick O'Brien seemed to take time to adjust but kicked two goals. Andrew Ainger kicked three goals and missed two sitters, competed well. Matt Appleton played extremely well in the last quarter. Best league effort I have seen from him. Jarrad Redden wasn't given a lot of work, it seemed the Eagles were content on him running around and getting some match fitness.

Solid start. Particularly impressed with our recruits. De Visser played well off half back (13 marks) and Newell was quick between the lines. Ellison rucked just about all day with Haren chipping in. Was soundly beaten by Sturt's three bigger rucks in Osborn, Parella and Mullins but still a good effort first up.

Mullins went down in the third quarter (2:05:45 in the video) and was stretchered off with what looked like a left knee injury.
