Not sure I did actually throw stones, or pass judgement on any clubs. Whatever you think of Brahma Lodge or Golden Grove, they aren't Unley or Marion or Woodville Rechabites. At this stage, there is a fair gulf in class and that's factual. MSCC won flags in their first years on Turf, does that mean they are a good as a PAOC? Nope.

Well done to PAOC in B3 - they seemed to enjoy their two days at Trinity and worked hard to win. They also enjoyed the banter from the outer. Showed good character.

Also, wishing Athlestone all the best (except for one bloke) in LO6 for next week's GF. They knocked us off far more easily than we would have liked.
It will be a good match between them and Brahma next week. Plenty of experienced heads there for both sides.
If Brahma bats first, I'm tipping them to win.
Sobels to be the match's x-factor. He'll love hearing that.

Pretty serious game in the B2s between Marion and Fulham. Over the 2 days of cricket, 3 runs between them over both innings.
Also heard there might be some issues at Fulham, Bone and Adcock not returning.

Seems there's been issues at Fulham for a while now.
Watering their pitches during semi finals in 2012/13.
Niblett walked out during the 2014/15 season and they then lost the GF after being top all season.
Played Srivastava in Rd 1 in 2015/16, losing the match points and missing finals as a result.
Now we hear the likes of Adcock and Bone won't be there for 2016/17.

Bone 2 year tourist visa is up I'm told. Looking to come back permanently in future.
L Adcock going to play in UK (did this year I think). Will be returning. The older one going nowhere.
Niblett contract wasn't renewed by club and Council/installer admitted fault for sprinklers.

Makes sense.
Adcock boys seemed to be Fulham through and through so was surprised when their names came up. Good to hear they are sticking around. Certainly very handy players you'll need if you are to be competitive at A1 when you get there.

Reynella had a big night. Club of the year, ( no senior teams made finals).
Spirit of cricket and 2 of our stars in the team of the year.
Not sure of the criteria for the first one. Strange but we'll take it.

Reynella had a huge night and doesn't Gabb speak bloody well. Impressed by McNally (Modbury) too, the others skippers who spoke less so.
Big year for the Wineflies, close to the 4 in their first year in A1. They'd have to be replacing Hopkins with someone wouldn't they?
A thought on the ATCA TOY? The criteria mentioned last night said 'team balance' was taken into consideration. So they've picked two spinners, two keepers and two all rounders? Surely it's 5 bats, 1 WK, 1 All rounder, 3 seamers and 1 spinner?

Gabby can play, I wouldn't say speaking is his strength. Sounds like a jockey and says "erm" a little bit too much for me. Doesn't mean the bloke can't play cricket (though I did dismiss him cheaply twice back in the day, and I'm no good) and it's a fair honour to be skipper of the Team of the Year.

As for Harrington, ATCA do seem to have a thing for him. Maybe because he's such a good bloke. Then again, I doubt that's the reason why.

Surprised McNally was even there. I thought he'd be home resting his shoulders given he's carried Modbury all year. People say one bloke doesn't make a team, but he's done it pretty much solo all year, the rest of the squad just ride his coattails. Surely they get found out by Penfield this weekend? McNally or bust.

Wish ATCA would use their website a bit more. They've only taken content off in the last few months, not added anything. We've had T20 and two day finals, ATCA presentations and a whole heap of other stuff. Time to embrace the digital age ATCA, if an old fella like me can do it, anyone can! Facebook page, Twitter account, set up an Instagram page and bring that website into the 21st century.

No set criteria for club of the year, they just pick one they think has done well.
Things like ringing scores through and entering into my cricket, no suspensions, no forfeits, etc would all come into it I assume.

Keepers get a score out of 10 from the umpires each round.
All those keepers who played 7 games or more are then included for the award.
The award is then given to the keeper with the highest average score.
