A few things to report on today's trial game v West Croydon.
Firstly our own David Flaherty suffered a dislocated elbow in the 3rd quarter of the Bs. He was taken to hospital where it was put back in and I'm told by him there are no other breaks so that's a positive. We hope he makes a speedy recovery and wish him well. Thank you to Chris (Doc) Brown who rendered assistance immediately to Flahts. It's great to have a bloke like that around when the unexpected happens.
The B grade managed 19 scoring shots to 10 and due to bad kicking in front of goal went down 8.2 - 4.15
The A grade started to get things really going before a West Croydon player went down (to friendly fire) with a serious back injury in the 3rd quarter. The game had to be abandoned as the players welfare took precedence. I'm told the player will be okay. At that point Ironbank lead 9.4 - 3.4
Thank you to West Croydon for the hit out and hospitality (no pun intended).

Couple of interesting results there though - I would've thought Ironbank would be way to strong for WC - and I would've thought WC B grade would struggle a bit.. obviously not.

Wonder if Ironbanks recruits played.

Sad news about the injuries though - especially in a trial game.

Your boys had an easy win in the B Grade yesterday - what was it? About 40 goals to 0.0?

I would be shocked if many of the blokes who played Saturday night lined up in round 1 for Brahma's A grade. Looked more like a B/C trial game with who I saw playing

25.23 to 0.0

Got to feel for Hackham though, their B grade wouldn't have beaten our C grade side, we gave them a few players as well to make up numbers, but credit to them they stuck it out. I was happy to give our fringe players a good run and try a few new things as well.

Score really was irrelevant I thought.
