The amount of $$$ Lofty are paying Whitey (someone who openly doesn't want to play footy this year) and Osbourne (someone who doesnt have an ankle) is ridiculous! Neither would be playing in our A grade.

When you consider all the outrageous stories about what blokes get paid, this one is right up there. Lofty, you must be an awwwwful football club.

Wouldn't have thought paying a 40 year old big $$ is the way forward for any club. I think he uses the not playing football anymore as an excuse to leave a club. The year he joined the Jets he told other clubs that he had retired then all of a sudden there is a clearance approved. Hopefully he doesn't want to play and Mt Lofty have wasted their money and time because I bet he won't want to be playing up there when it's pissing down and minus 2 degrees at heathfield

I hope Ironbank have found a way to fix their colts numbers, sad story last year for a Club that had some strong colts teams over the years

What on earth are you talking about windbag? Last year our 15s came third and had a really solid side. The 13s were young and only won a few games but had plenty of players. The 17s were low on numbers for sure and struggled but that happens when 16 players from the previous years team all went up to seniors. When your a small town your going to have down years. All of our teams are looking good this year numbers wise and all should be competitive. I mean in 2014 all 3 of our junior sides made the finals and last year we only struggled with numbers in 17's which happens from time to time.

I guess that is the nature of sites like this, but it can lead to some pretty ordinary stuff (the truth of which is unimportant) being said!

As far as Ironbank are concerned I have heard they have picked up a very good key forward.
They certainly have some work to do as their depth last year let them down.
They had some good top end talent, but were not able to cover the injuries they had.
In fact they played over 40 in their A grade last year. A situation that would be difficult for any team to cover.

Is Motlop coming back from Darwin to play this season FT Super important to Ironbanks fortunes

Motlop isn't coming back. He barely played last year and when he did his body was shot sadly. Was fantastic his first year with us. We do have more depth from last year with a number of people returning and hopefully we don't have the injuries we had last year which hurt. Willy Searle is the forward your talking about, played at Kadina for the past 5 years.

Onkas need Leonard.
He is a very good player.

I would think trials start this week.
I see Hahndorf are playing in the Australian champions league.
Any other teams got trials on??

Looking at the clearance page and TV seem to be losing their better juniors to other clubs, although they have denied two clearances. Looks like the under 15 and 13s could be just be a hahndorf side and with losing their two best under 15s from last year there 17s may really struggle.

I see Hahndorf didn't win a game in the Australian Champions League.
Maybe they aren't going to be that good this year?

Cheers to Eddie, Wendles and the Ironbank FC for the hit-out on Saturday. Got a bit out of playing on the small oval.

I know there has been a lot said on Jaensch, so I am not here to jump on the bashing bandwagon, but I was reading the advertiser today and there is an article in there that basically says Jaensch enjoyed a beer or two and when he was confronted by Tex he didn't want to conform to that and the additional pressures of being an AFL player and therefore decided he wanted out. Had lost the love of the game and just wanted to go back to grassroots to try and enjoy it again.
Now some would say he gave up an opportunity that many would die for, but I think we will see this happen more and more in the future.
Players under heavy scrutiny and from a young age they are told they can't go out past a curfew, can't drink during the season, can't go out, have to say this, act this way, train all the time, not hang out with these people and have numerous media outlets criticise you and bag you whenever without giving a response.
I look at Nathan Ablett and he was the same as Jaensch, after all that is required you get to a point where it is just a job and you find it hard to rock up day in day out.
Can't really blame the bloke for simply wanting to enjoy footy and have a beer with mates after the game, I think we are all guilty of that.
The only time i've ever been wrong...was when I thought I was wrong!!!
