Marion 3 of 5 senior teams playing in GFs, A2s missing a GF by 10 runs.. U/15s winners.

Sorry, that's a fail.....Marion in bottom half of Jeff Emmel Spirit of Cricket Award.

And we all know why that is!!!!!

Best of luck to all teams plying in GF's today. Expecting some very close games throughout the grades.

Heard Woodville South lost A2 already, bowled out 91, chased down without losing a wicket. Game called off already so they can get on piss tonight, no need to even come tomorrow!

Surprised they won toss and batted, with all the rain we had, thought their best chance was to get early wickets while pitch doing a bit, easy in hindsight I suppose!

It doesn't matter what grade chasing runs in a grand final is always tough. Expect teams with average scores of 140, 150 and 160 to win 80% of games. Turf players in general don't like chasing runs. Grade players are better at leaving balls they don't have to play and it's easier for them, being better players.

Dropped very early
Illuminato dropped 3rd ball then stumped off Boucaut 2nd over (yep, off a quicky)

PAOC probably 50 short of where they should have been after there start Saturday. Bowled manfully but didn't get as much assistance from the field as they would have liked. Probably lucky to get Hanson the ball before tea, but should have had him earlier..

Best side for the year wins the flag, hard to begrudge Pooraka that. They earnt it

Correct - only batted 71 overs after a 70 odd first wicket
Wasn't going to be easy against the best batting side

Just relieved they rocked up at all.. We didn't have the pleasure of them doing that in round 6 this season..

I heard the pitch was cut and rolled again, which I'm not sure I agree with, but apparently the umpires approved the works.
Hard to believe the umpires would approve the mowing of the outfield though! That's just crazy!

Imagine that happening in a high grade. Do you reckon the Grand Final would have gone ahead?
