Read it wrong mate.
The abuse was directed the Port huddle.
Cornes is at Glenelg now, so played no official role on the night.
He literally appeared out of nowhere.

By grabbing the hat off someone's head you are technically committing assault.
As was pointed out on the night by an ex policeman enquiring if anyone wanted to take the matter further.

Why would you, 20 second exchange, done and dusted.

Cornes just trying to establish himself in the media, headline hunting.

None of this makes your behaviour acceptable - hardly something to be proud of.
Of course we are only reading your (naturally) biased view of the night.

Those comments towards huddles all the time , hardly worth reacting too. Norwood do have some arrogant and aggressive supporters however if that was all it is then pretty pathetic. Port are hardly angels .

It's the abuse aspect I can't accept, and is normally only done when part of a crowd of similarly minded dregs. Unfortunately some who indulge in it believe themselves to be the 'real' deal as far as supporters go and are unlikely to change. But If you have so little self control and not much in the way of brain cells then do something else with your time, don't dirty the game.

If that's all that was said, then I agree with JK. Particularly if it's directed in the general direction of the huddle and not at someone or uttered in their personal space. I've heard a lot worse in the outer in recent times.

Cornes just said on FIVEaa that this incident was the least of his concerns. He was more worried about the abuse directed at John Butcher's family, the death threats to Stewart and the abuse of the umpires.

Abusing family members just for being there is ridiculous - if that's how it plays out.

And concerned for the umpires? Puhlease.
Footballers are only concerned about the umps when they're mounting a soapbox and looking to add further colour to whatever it is they're selling.

That's fair, but then that means they're annoyed about the threats being part of general abuse and not the 'threat' itself.

As much as I do not like Port, I find some Norwood supporters behavior, especially those in the north western bar terrible. I don't mind good natured supporting but some of their reactions to umpiring disturbing.

I've got no love for Chad or Port but i do agree some of the Norwood fans and in particular at the Parade are the most feral fans you come across. At least when you go to Elizabeth the normal fans apologize for the ferals. Sturt have a few but not as bad as Norwood.

Last post I'll make on the issue. Cornes blatantly lied on 5AA. Independent witnesses and two on the night, one security, have contacted the Norwood Football Club and myself directly backing my version of events.
Maybe I should not have posted on Facebook.
But I've received death threats and been called everything under the sun from a peodophile to, heaven forbid, a Crows supporter!!
Not blowing my own trumpet, but being a "prominent" supporter I get blamed for a lot of things.
I like to think my banter is funny and quick witted.

As for the feral Norwood supporters, don't stand behind me and think I think you're clever.
My missus was ripping into them (Norwood "supporters") at the end of the match.
I was already in the rooms and would have no issues with the knobs being removed!!

Prominent ...lol. Who are you . Mates with the knob who waves the big flag ? Norwood must be proud. What do you get blamed for ? Surely as a prominent supporter they know it isn't you at fault .

The whole Cornes clan have never liked us, nor have we liked them. Our supporters gave him some good stick and he couldn't handle it, end of story.
