Picture this instead: The posts at each end shimmer as the heat rises from the floor of the collosus provincial amphitheatre. 30,000 voices raise in approval as the two foes appear

The 500 in attendance will love it

With the carnival and work done with the Crows and local community It will be closer to 5,000 than 500.

Last years event attracted 4,679

In terms of average crowds v Crows here is how the 8 SANFL teams stack up over last 2 years.

v Crows 2014 2015 Avg Rnk
Glenelg 5963 2872 4418 1
Eagles 3429 3472 3451 2
Sturt 3305 2928 3117 5
Norwood 3302 2434 2868 3
North 3000 2196 2598 4
Central 2520 1651 2086 6
South 1971 1406 1689 7
West 1526 1640 1583 8

Should be a good crowd, even as we speak Phil is handing out free passes to Eagles members. :P

And again, just to be clear, again.

The Eagles do not have a pet membership

The Eagles have never had a pet membership.

Yes we do spend a lot of time connecting with Kids, but hey who wants the next generation knowing what the SANFL is?

So without the gimmicks (kids and pet promotion) you only attracted 2265 to the other Crows home game.
Seems to me you should do it for every home game

Gotta love fans of other teams kicking my team
Go for it your naming crowds bigger than I've seen last year at prospect we could name clubs
It's known or a given the Eagles don't have a huge following
Difference with the Eagles over teams that finish lower Eagles reach the finals and at least make a grand final
Yep kick away they need a kick after the south game
In that case the crowd at Unely appeared crsppy when the Eagles stepped all over a lower team ,

So go ahead fire up the Eagles
It's early everyone knows the AFL seconds team go to water end of the year at Port last year .

Call our kids promotions a "gimmick" if you wish.

I would call it a great opportunity to engage with local community groups & especially local junior footballers.

What SANFL club would ever want to do that?

I'll leave it to your Bulldogs to do the pet memberships.

Calm down you two

My dig was at the 4,000 absent Crows fans and the inequality of AFL pro's turning out against SANFL semi-pro's, and how the AFL have walked all over the SANFL
But I thought you might have sussed that for yourselves.

I take no offence digging at the AFL clubs crows promised 4000
Port I'm not sure about Eagles are so far away from Alberton I'm not sure how many faithful port fans ever been to or ever lived in their old zone .
We only attracted a large port crowd by Maugham Thiem offering a free car
Maybe Toyota should do that for the crows .

No offence to anyone seeing Port AFL heads still say the old zone area is port they lost that to us

That's great oppurtunity for the kids

But in no way will that equate to anything for the Eagles especially considering more than likely most of them were there to see the crows

Just a thought why not do something like that when you play an original SANFL club

You need to get yourfacts straight I was there and my eldest
If we are talking crowds dogs crowd dropped off last year they missed the eagles winning out at Elizabeth first time in 12 years

Now players in 2004 ok I'll grant you that one

But by all means run the Eagles down keep doing it all year

I'm not sure why fans from other clubs complain about kids playing a carnival then staying watching footy
If they are in the Eagles zone are good enough to make the league they play for the Eagles
Including any one from what Port Adelaide says is their heartland . It's promoting the SANFL setting a seed to support the SANFL
But Fans of other clubs who don't watch the Eagles play seen focused running them down really seems a strange thing to do .
If you fans hate them why beat your chests verbally at how bad they are doing having families with kids play a carnival .

Truthfully if the SANFL actually played the AFL seconds teams with the same rules either port Adelaide wouldn't have an academy side or the crows would and the need to play kids carnival games would not be needed
