Looking at the ladder after rd 6 i would go as far as saying the top 8 wont change.

A few positional changes but there seems to be a gap between those in the 8 and those chasing.

27,000. With 70,000 members and being one of the "big" Melbourne clubs haven't they jumped off that bandwagon?

Some mates went over and guessed around 4-5000 Port fans there and said the Richmond fans around him were bagging all of the big guns in the side before half time. He said he heard a few of them say they won't be back while Hardwick is in charge. Fickle or what?

Was Mick Molloy one of those who said he wouldn't be back... God I hope so!

Round 6.... free kick to Hawthorn

Postby Jim05 » Mon May 02, 2016 7:27 pm

Well finally forced myself into watching yesterday's game, the less said the better. Not many positives apart from the continued improvement of Hartley and Parish. Both sides going nowhere fast. This will be the start of a rough month or so where some real batterings will come. Need to keep playing the kids and hope Freo doesn't cost us Ainsworth[emoji1]

Disagree Jimbo, we're on the way. It's a long "way" but we're going forward quickly enough for it to be positive. For the first time in a long time, we are displaying some structure and a defence. We are burning the ball like no mans at the moment but that will come. Our inside 50 entries are appalling but that moreso reflects our non-forward line (or should I say our forward line that now play at other clubs?). Casboult is a huge concern. He clunks it like no mans but can't kick.

From where we've come from and people saying we wouldn't win a game, I'd say what we're doing is really good. You can see that Bolton has us playing a good game style that will win games of footy in the future. Yep, we mighn't be any good this year and maybe next but get games into the Curnow's, Weitering's, Plowman's etc and I can see a future for us.... FINALLY.

Thought he was very stiff to miss a week. It was clumsy but his intent was clearly still to tackle

Yep, pretty average for someone as tough as Thomas to miss a game for that. Inconsistent MRP.

I'd like them to crack down on the strikes to the chest area. Two blokes push and shove turns into palm strike after palm strike in the chest. If 8t was to the head it'd be games. Start fining some blokes and cut it out. Bad look I reckon.

Yeah Jim it was hard to watch.

I should add, that second quarter was cringeworthy watching. My 6 year old son decided playing a game of pool in the other room was better than watching us butcher the ball going forward.

I agree with others summation on here. Thomas got a week because he's Thomas. He tried to tackle, his hand was open, not closed. It was only cos Hunter (I think) wasn't standing upright that the force was worse. It looked bad but really, a week for a high tackle? Come on....

Free kick only. But the Dogs squealed and the AFL buckled like Paul Puopolo.
