D6R Ladder Round 7:
14 - West Croydon
12 - Woodville South
10 - Brahma Lodge
08 - Trinity OS
08 - Ingle Farm
--------------------------------
08 - Adelaide Lutheran
08 - Mitchell Park
02 - Houghton Districts
00 - Mawson Lakes
00 - Fitzroy

Round 8:
Woodville South v Brahma Lodge: Woody South continued their winning ways against Mitchell Park on the weekend. Mirroring the efforts of the A grad, the Cats are quietly going about their business. O'Regan another 4 goals up forward is proving a handful, while they showed their true depth Saturday with strong performances to Ashby and Coppola. Goodes and Swanson were quiet but Ward also strong. They'll be happy to be home this week, and against a Brahma Lodge side that suffered a shock defeat on the weekend. Bad kicking is bad football, and Brahma would be ruing missed opportunities to kick Ingle Farm out of the game before the half. Tyson Lees continues to improve and another sound performance Saturday, while Gehlken and Markwick were rock solid in defence, repelling attacks all day. Corbett, Taylor, Hem-Mendes and Cook provided the Lodge with a good range of runners and options and they'll need all these lads firing this week if they're to bounce back. They'll record enough I50 this week to win, the question will be a matter of whether they can hit the scoreboard and make them count. Perhaps the #35 in the C grade would be a handy acquisition up forward for them..

Adelaide Lutheran v Mitchell Park: Two sides that started the season well, but momentum has dropped away. Both coming off losses will be keen to bounce back strong this week. The winner of this clash will likely find themselves back inside the 5 at the end of the weekend. For Lutheran it was Matthews and Bentley who toiled hard all day, and found 7 individual goal kickers which is a massive positive. Hoklas works hard and Phelan on a HBF / Wing provides good drive forward. Mitchell Park similarly like their A grade haven't played bad footy, but have just had a tough run of the draw and some difficult away games. Waack is a beast, Battersby continues to be consistent and Moroney gives them another dimension. Number of changes last week can unsettle a side, but they'll be better for the run, and would be hoping to welcome back Davidson this week to the mix. Wilson enjoying a good year personally as well, will be looking to continue that form. Lutheran are a better side at home, but Mitchell Park don't need to cross Grand Junction Rd, and that may be enough to get the 2pts here.

Houghton Districts v Ingle Farm: Talk of the day is Starr's 6 goal haul and Henderson's 4 behinds. A win by the closest margin on the weekend, those victories bring sides together. Boosted by the return of Fitzgerald and Turner, Houghton will be brimming with confidence heading into this week, and deservedly so after their efforts. A much better side at home, the mountain men will be hard to beat at home against an Ingle Farm side that has shown it doesn't travel well, and struggles to lift for sides beneath it, make it susceptible to upsets.

Mawson Lakes v Fitzroy: Mawson Lakes for the second week in a row went down by less than a kick. They're proving more and more competitive but just cant get over the line for that victory. Patience the key here for them, it's coming, and it could well be this week against Fitzroy. Williams return to the side marked a return to the best players, justifying my call last week that he was the difference between them losing and beating Ingle Farm the round before. They lost Haydon to the A grade which hurt, but their defence game continues to keep them in the contest. Fitzroy on the other hand were given an absolute belting by the Hawks to the tune of 181 points. Smart, Lennon and Mutanda can hold their heads high as they worked against the odds for the Lions. An easier contest this week, both sides hungry for a win, who will be more desperate than the other? My gut says Mawson Lakes.

West Croydon v Trinity OS: West Croydon wow! Just continue to go from strength to strength. Names mentioned previous - Campbell and Cuellar had a day out Saturday with 8 and 9 goals respectively. Backlines super impressive to only concede one goal - probably an area of concern in their side. They continue to fly, question is will complacency creep in? Will they get ahead of themselves and drop their guard? Trinity are no strangers to causing upsets and they know how to win when it matters. Last years premiers beat all in their path last finals series, and Saturdays win may well re-kick start their season again. Krieg showed why he was so sorely missed, and returned with 7 majors Saturday while Burne and Boswald continue their strong season. Hill enjoying a year off from the A grade showed he's better than the level. West Croydon wont get it as easy this week, Trinity's backline is as good as any and their mids work harder than most. They'll have the ascendancy in the midfield, the question will be if West Croydon can contain Krieg and if TOS can stop Campbell. Should be a cracker and match of the round to close out the round of games.

Rowdy yes, I think they peaked well before the A grade tho. Some of the banter was sub par

A bit steep if you don't want opposition bringing their own in, selling it at an opposition ground though is just plain rude.

No way, $5 is about right I reckon.

Probably never stop opposition bringing their own in though, always a few that do, but you hope to minimise that and encourage your people to spend over the bar.
