didnt miss a target. and most of them werent short kicks either, had 14 rebound 50s which means he wasnt just hitting the short kicks when he was kicking out.

will have to check the prospectus when i get home but pretty sure he was rated in the top few in the comp for kicking, in their attempt to measure overall kicking and not just efficiency (i think bob was first)

Sorry - should have put "looks like hes not hurting them" was more thinking about how he bumps up his kick eff with those short kicks. As i said his metres gained numbers are huge so combine that with kicking eff and he is certainly hurting teams (even if it looks like he's just chipping it around)

It will be a huge shame if they go deep in September and if they finish top 4, a likely possibility, they could potentially draw about 15,000 to a semi or prelim final. They're close on field, off field they are miles off the pace as far as getting bums on seats goes.

What about the prospect of an all Sydney Grand Final -

It would still be a sell out, and just one big corporate junket.... Good chance the camera's would pick up plenty in the crowd just yawning.

The last game of the season is no longer, one for the average punter.

it hasnt been for years.

I would rather GWS win it than hawthorn again :D

I hope not, I'm going and the last thing I'd want to see is two teams, who have been given everything for their entire existence play off in a GF.

Didn't freo rest players in Round 22 last year to freshen up for finals?

Apparently if you look at Freo's two round 9 sides (2015 vs 2016), of the 22 from last year, 2 have retired (McPharlane and Duffield) and 4 are injured (Johnson, Fyfe, Sandilands and Hill). The other 16 were all available for selection, with 14 of the 16 picked.

Seems to me that's not a huge change in cattle for a side that's done a perfect flip from 9-0 to 0-9.

Johnson, Fyfe, Sandilands and Hill could very well be their best 4 players. Take the best 4 players out of any side and it changes the outlook dramatically. Not to mention the issues they've had with other blokes in and out. We've known for years now the difference a good pre season makes in the AFL and theirs was awful.

Didn't he get fined the first couple? Third time is meant to be a suspension as I recall. Didn't see it myself but seems highly convenient.

Yea and whos the little pest player is it Ballantyne? Pavlich meeting high standards still or?

They also lost brett kirk and simon lloyd as coaches would also be a big dent

They got the gold coast sun in forgot his name though

Next year they get number 1 draft plus probably Cam McCarthy

So they've lost their FB, CHB, their wingman is now their centreman and they've also lost their 1st ruckman and FF. Their CHB in Rd 9 was on the bench in Rd 22. That's a fair change up.

And I should add, Mundy is a shadow of his former self.

That's not really what I meant... I was suggesting that a predominantly Melbourne based corporate crowd would/could find it boring, without a Victorian based team playing... Be that Collingwood, Geelong, Hawthorn etc. . The reality is, we are going to see GWS in a GF sooner rather than later I suspect. Good luck to them. Personally I will watch the GF every year regardless of who is playing.
