Yep, the run down late in the Carlton game should have been watched that many times by Amon and his line coach that it should just not have happened again, yet he gets mowed down when he should have known he had some heat coming.

One - He's not as fast as he thinks he is. Two - He needs to think faster than he currently is.

Surely his team mates should be letting him know too?

Amon sadly has the spacial awareness of a blind and deaf person.

Some positive news, Jay Schulz set to return after the bye (return date 3-5 weeks away), and Matt White also progressing well from his Pectoral injury. Will be handy inclusions after the bye, just hope we can pinch 2 from the next 3, get there at 7-6 and see what happens.

Schulz would be a huge in. Would allow Dixon to move into a tippett like ruck-forward role. Reckon he would be the best ruck in the team at the moment but just hasnt been able to do that due to the structure of the team

I think Dixon would still be our close to goal target, Schulz would play the mobile and Westhoff could be third man up all over the ground as Blicavs did for Geelong while they had limited ruck options last year.

Yeah thats an option too. Can westhoff play as a full time follower though? I doubt there is anyone else in the comp that could play the role that Blicavs plays, purely because of his aerobic capacity.

Westhoff is pretty good at covering the ground still, so maybe thats an option

Yes, young Howard can do the centre work and follow the opposition ruckman, Westhoff can make himself a nuisance by helping out around the ground. His aerobic ability, while not Blicavs, would be as good as the best 199cm men in the game.

Reckon Westhoff's running is vastly underestimated. Looks like he lopes the whole game but consistently runs past blokes, even mids covering the ground. Could very well have Blicavs covered in that department.

Blicavs tried to qualify for the 2012 olympics as a middle distance runner so its pretty safe to say he would have almost everyone else in the AFL covered, but I do agree with the point that westhoff covers the ground well

A well deserved rising star nomination for DBJ.

Blicavs would have him covered, but he's only 198cm so it's hard to compare them. ;)

******* can't take a ******* trick ******* shit ****.

JACK Hombsch will not hit the MCG this weekend against the Pies.

The key defender will miss around two weeks due to a hamstring strain sustained late in the Power's clash with Melbourne.

Midfield manager Michael Voss confirmed the news in a press conference on Wednesday.

"I think Hombsch will be a couple of weeks," he told media.

Meanwhile fellow defender Matthew Broadbent has been cleared of an illness which left him withdrawn from the game late last week.

"He's good - he was just ill after last week, it was one of those bugs you get for 24 hours, so he wasn't available on the day," Voss said.

Voss also pointed to longtime defender Alipate Carlile and young talent Logan Austin as possible ins for the Pies clash to bolster the Power's backline.

On paper doesnt look good to have all these players out. I think Port are missing Ryder and Shultz the most this season (and you will miss Hombsch alot this week who i rate as one of the best defenders in the comp). However, you can mount an argument that the others are replaceable/can be covered. eg. Aarong Young. Monfries and Lobbe's form the past seasons have been poor.
