Interesting seeing Wrinkles, Chiggy and Carey on the front page of the paper with a tin in their hand. Hopefully they're made fun of for years to come like Timmy G is

Who remembers Woodville / West Torrens / Fitzroy / South Melbourne .

With a team named Woodville West Torrens playing in the SANFL it think there's a chance that one or two on the list won't be forgotten ;)
Seriously, I hope the Bay's survive. It's bad enough losing Port Adelaide, and Woodville merging with West Torrens, without losing Glenelg too.

Spot on John.
Once they're gone, they're gone. It won't matter whose fault it'll be, they'll still be gone.

Sincerely hope the bays can dig themselves out of this hole.

Love the competition and don't want to see any of the teams fold as in the long run it will only hurt all the other clubs.

Will be at the Bays v South game later in the season and will kick in some cash while down there.

Chiggy at least had a meeting (un-like some other clubs) so people can sh!t-can the bloke all they like at least he had some balls to stand up in front of the membership and explain the reasons why and wherefore he was voting the way he was.

Yes the vibe at that meeting was not supportive of the two reserves teams but as he clearly said at the meeting his decsion is based on factors not just limited to the members view-points.

Maybe it would have better if he had said no and the club could have got some coin to change our decision like another club
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Totally agree,

Even the most basic marketing tool such as a 'Call to Action' doesn't exists in the video other than we need your support.

Like Booney said what are they asking for, extra memberships, donations, extra patronage to the club etc.

Obviously they want all of that but there needs to be a much clearer CTA.

Also interesting that there was no modern players or next to no footage of current day football.

All good and well to get the support and hit the hearts of the rich older bracket of supporters to donate money and survive this time but without the support of the current 18-35 age bracket there is no future regardless of whether they get out of debt this time.

I hope Glenelg survive and would never want to see a club fold but not sure that this video did a very good job at all.

I'll be donating even though I'm not A GFC supporter. I'd hate to see any club with a long tradition fold, regardless of any decisions made re AFL participation.

...or Port in the early 80's, South, Sturt, North & also North Melbourne, Richmond, Footscray, Hawthorn, Melbourne were all "dead horses" in your opinion too?

Or Geelong in 99.

McDermott wrote an article in the paper today about it.
I don't think McGuiness will make an appearance anywhere for a long time.

Let's be honest here the club is up sh*t creek like other SANFL Clubs. They are no longer the Big Boys in town. The Cows & PAP Smears took care of that!!

If you look at it in reality letting the Two Reserves sides has done irrepairable damage to the image of the SANFL.

Crowds and Memberships are down. Having so many BYES during the season is a joke!!!

Kick the interlopers out. Go back to a 8 team comp play everybody 3 times & a Final Four would go a long way to solving the problems of all clubs.

Supporters of all clubs have lost interest due to the Interlopers. Where are the extra 3000 per game Rob Chapman said would come. Haven't seen them but the clubs fell for it Hook Line & Sinker.

Port Adelaide should not be allowed to play home games should play all games as away games. More money lost to local clubs.

Time is now to take a stand or other clubs will fall over too.

Other supporters might not seem that interested but what if it was your club and nobodt came to help you.

Time to buy a membership!!!!

I'm back in
2017, 2019 & 2020 PREMIERS
RICHMOND, RICHMOND, RICHMOND.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

I asked the question today to 3 different, independent, unbias people as to why the SANFL can't pay Glenelg their share of the sale of Footy Pk up front to help pay the debts & provide financial stability.
One was pretty sure the money from the sale was coming through bit by bit from the property developers with more $ to come when the housing is actually built & sold.
All of them were pretty sure the SANFL couldn't do it off their own bat as the bank account is a pretty bare after majorly bailing out Port.
Can someone confirm/deny?
