Go and sook about him in a more appropriate thread where sooking is the norm, Geelong or Adelaide ones would be a good place to start

Why so angry man? Bulldogs and Hawks flags everywhere and you always sound mad enough to eat a raw steak.

Very perky now, thanks for top spot, been awhile.
Despite all the doom and gloom, too old too slow, no roughy no hodge we find ourselves top after R14.
Be 17 other clubs who wish they could go backwards and still be top ;)

Wow how many lemons did you suck ?

No lemons sucked here, did you know we've been premiers for 1001 days now, nearly 20 years since your cheating franchise had any success, toodle off back to your own thread with all the other footballing nuffies in your number 19 guernseys

I actually like it.
It has the flavour of standard Hawks Arrogance, mixed with a little bit banter, with a splash of truth.
Just because it's not to your taste buds, doesn't mean the chef was wrong.

You may not like us, and there are plenty that fall into that category, but the way the Hawks continue to find a way to get it done is impressive.

Earlier this season I suggested Silk Burgoyne would be pensioned off, come season end. But once again, he steps up and proves I am wrong on that call. He is bloody cool under pressure when the Hawks chuck him onto the ball when its getting tight.

Say what you like about the umps. A few things though. I reckon I saw 2 or 3 Swans boys fair dinkum chuck it last night, not pinged. Some say S Mitchell does as well. Reckon if you look closely he has quick hands & they are legal. Either way, its swings & round-a-bouts. Another thing.... like someone to show me where in the rules of Australian Football it says "the free kick count should be even"..... If you are first to the ball, and you pressure & tackle well, you get rewarded. It really is that simple. Maybe there are a few Hawks blokes who have worked out what they can & can't get away with & the play to it. Smart play the if that's the case. I would go as far as saying they also recognise when an Ump is out of position to make a call, and play it accordingly, once again - smart play.

As for the Swans ruckman who decided he would just go for a casual stroll around the Hawks forward line early in the last quarter (pretty sure it was the last) that's just plain dumb..... Poppy will run you down every day of the week.

Everyone (even Hawks fans) gets sick of Bruce's ejaculatory speech when Cyril is playing. Err it's not Cyril's fault Brucey can't keep it in his tweeds. I thought the outside 50 goal last night was beyond the little blokes distance.... he surprised me with the length of that kick.

Top 2 looking good, and playing a decent brand of Footy now. 6 more rounds to fine tune, and while I reckon plenty will have a giggle.... I wouldn't mind seeing Schoenmakers slip back in as another tall forward option or swingman down back. The Hawks still miss that tall marking (Roughy) target.

I don't have any issues with Hawthorn. If they go on to win the flag this year I would say it will be the best ever premiership won in my eyes. To win so many close games and then cash in would be an unreal premiership.

To me though, there are still plenty of "if's". It only has to backfire on you once and it can cost you the season, the fact so many teams are getting close still dangles the carrot.

But again as I said, if they win the flag it would be the greatest premiership I have ever seen as they could quite easily be 8th.

I agree LK. Hawthorn are not over the line by a long shot yet. The AFL have gotten exactly what they wanted - a close comp. Certainly in terms of the top 8 teams this season. I guess my confidence has risen the past few weeks as I see the Hawks playing the type of footy that I think can get the job done. Top 2 and home finals is huge.

Agree re Shoey, its him or OBrein that has to come in, Brand worries me when he has the ball as does Litherland, we certainly still have a few holes. Huge win without shiels. Hills best game for the year, hopefully he kicks on from here, hes vital and as ive always said he and Smith are our barometers, if you shut them down we cant win. Not convinced about Whitecross, he came in to do a roie last night and tag Hanneberry and done a great job.
Bit worried about Big Boys form, he was horrendous last night and the opposition wasnt the best he will come up against either.

Our mates from sleepy hollow can do us a massive favour in the next two weeks. They can virtually guarantee us a top 2 finish if they beat both the crows and bulldogs.
We have lost 3, Bulldogs and Crows are the only two teams to have lost 4, if they both go to to 5 losses I cant see us losing 2 more to drop out of the top 2.
Even if one of them beat Geelong we should still stay in the top 2

I think last year's would be pretty hard to top. A lot of stuff went wrong last season but they got the job done. This year everything seem to have gone right for them. It's a massive effort to stay up for so long but I think now they rely on a lot less players than they used to. I reckon the Hawks will get a dud umpiring call in a knockout final delivered with a beautiful poetic justice.
