This is correct - and I think they would've beaten Angle Vale and seriously challenged Ingle Farm for the flag that year.

Credit to Smithfield to be able to come back from that the following year bigger and better - and now 3x years on they're playing in D5.

FC, well done on all your work on here over the last 5 days, wouldn't have been easy with plenty to watch over, looks like you've stayed on top of it and kept the masses in check while discussing a topic that could be very inflammatory.

Well played young lady.

What are peoples thoughts on their short and long term viability as a football club from here? is there some doubt about their existance?

As per previous statement

Confirmed!!!! Player suspended for 20 years

Which means he can have no official involvement or hold any position in any football club Australia wide
2017, 2019 & 2020 PREMIERS
RICHMOND, RICHMOND, RICHMOND.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

A suspended player is not allowed in the changerooms on match day to sit on the coaches bench or walk out onto the ground during the match to the 1/4 & 3/4 time huddles

By putting a year term on it it gives a time frame where a Life Ban is Life!!!

I know of a former coach who was given a Life Ban and that was 24 years ago and that ban is still in force.

I doubt the club being suspended for 3 rounds is gonna cause them to fold.

He was sacked as coach at WT wasn't he? Not coaching currently?

Wouldn't think (shouldn't) affect his cricketing commitments I don't think - and remembering he's a pretty successful and decorated grade cricket coach.

Just a couple questions more out of curiosity;

*What was the feeling of the game like after the highly publicised incident? Was it heated, were people having silent to umpiring decisions on the side lines ect? Was the game lucky not to be called off?

*What is the go with the bloke in the Advertiser article that didn't leave the ground after being sent off and it took the bench to get him off? Is that a bit over the top journalism?
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

No but their reputation ain't going to be great, going to take some strong leadership for this to not hurt the club short and long term.

Parents will be asking questions no doubt.

The club has been in existence since 1887, yes this whole saga will hurt their reputation but I'm sure the RFC will survive, it's what the RFC does.

Mate, I can't remember a time when RFC had a glowing rep. I don't think one bad incident during an iffy season is gonna turn people off a whole club.

We'll see how the rest of the year goes, since the juniors are still playing.

Rosewater have the right bloke at the helm to steer them out of the predicament. Ronnie is a ripping bloke and knows the challenges ahead. They will be ok in time.

I see Dylan Lockwood, who was on the list of Rosewater breaches, received a 1 match penalty for undue rough play. Is he likely to face further sanctions because he allegedly refused to the leave the ground? Also notice that Rosewater had a player suspended for 1 match on 2 July for wearing jewellery - never seen that before.
