Like every great weather man I can be wrong. Looking at the maps though there are 2 cold fronts- 1 around 200km from Lincoln and a sneaky one which looks to have a bit of punch in it just over the WA border. I'd say that's the one the BOM says has some venom and can bring hail tonight.

spoke to the Charles sturt council guys who reckon even with sand spreading to soak up the water still on the swampy patches they were highly doubtful of the oval coming up especially with the rain on Friday and were struggling to get anything heavier than a dingo on the ground....so how is it looking MH?

I would have thought you Walkerville blokes would be used to playing in a mud bath. Just think of it as playing a home game away.

If you're not getting muddy playing footy at this time of year you're not going in hard enough. Regardless of where we play tomorrow, both sides will play in the same conditions. I must say, it feels that little bit better after a win when you're covered head to toe in mud.

PS: our oval looks pretty good atm considering the rain.

And also lay good tackles on guys covered in mud, making themselves muddy in the process.

With the talk of muddy decks last week check out this pig pen in the E&DFL just out of Melbourne.

Final score 1.6 def 1.3.

Played at Seaton on the weekend and their ground is in amazing condition. Only bit of mud I found was right at the race where you come on the ground. I still remember playing there when Port played Richmond a few years back at AAMI and AAMI was in shocking condition and Seaton was immaculate.

We played there about 4 weeks ago and it was in top shape. I asked around as tovhow their oval was in such good condition and turns out that it's a sand based oval. Apparently holds a bit better during rain.
