I love this time of year when Butcher plays one or two games and they re-sign him to clog the list

IMO, If he got de-listed any SANFL club would be mad not to look at him:

1. He can take a mark (arguably the best mark in the SANFL comp when he plays)
2. He provides a target (straighten sides up)
3. Appears to be a pretty convivial dedicated footballer (his team mates love him by all reports and he works hard at his game)

Yes his kicking is amateur level at best (why he hasn't taken the next step to being a really good AFL level player) but you can structure your SANFL side around him and have strategies to over come that.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

If only Port could make the finals

I didnt see the game but the highlights i saw was an uncontested mark in the goal square and a handball over the top goal, not exactly setting the world on fire if that was the highlights of his game against 19yo defenders

Just building up his currency for the trade period. Richmond will be licking their lips at the prospect of getting him on board. ;)

PS - Petrie didn't even look like getting a touch on a 19 year old defender a couple of weeks ago. ;)

Would even the worst list management team in the AFL (used to be Freo, then Carlton, then I lost track) look at Butch as a trade? Surely not. We're meant to be in an age of increasing professionalism.

But, as far as the Pahhhhhr itself is concerned, forget a 12 month extension, after the Miracle at the Gabba, it's time to start the chant: Two more years! Two more years!

As a 3rd tall in a team he might be worth a punt.
Freo or Richmond maybe?
Can't be any worse than that knob jockey Vickery at Richmond.
And with Pav going Freo look very thin up forward.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

Did I just hear it said on the news that old JB got chopped from the Power list?

Butcher will head back to Victoria to play with his brother. Can't see another AFL club taking a punt on him

A rumour going around at the Ressies final today that North are looking at signing him.

Chuck him to centre half back and he might be just what we need. I know people love to bag him because of his poor kicking but he is a real competitor, can take a grab and his kicking in general play seems better than his goalkicking. Given our total lack of height down back he could be very useful. Just as long as the deal is that little brother Danny doesn't have to come back to North too.
