Racists that again have a wagon to hitch themselves to

The supporters of One Nation may simply be people somewhat frightened by what they see going on in the Islamic countries at the hands of extremist factions who are fearful of that becoming manifest here if a critical mass of of Muslims settle here.

From my point of view the intolerance of other religions apparent among Muslim extremists resembles the same pattern seen among Christian extremists about 600 years ago when Christianity was about the same age as Islam is now - a sort of religious adolescence!
EPIGENETICS - Lamarck was right!

The irony is, if you are in Australia you are more likely to have been raped by a catholic priest than the victim of an Islamist terrorist attack

Have you surveyed all of the One Nation voters to come up with this opinion or is it just your own prejudiced view?

I dont she is a racist. Islam is not a race mate so she is not racist. I believe the term you are searching for is either Prejudice or Bigot.

During her first tilt into politics she was racist it was asians in the Hanson crosshairs. Now its Muslims.

She is a racist as well - its the brown people (used to be the asians) she doesnt like. I know Islam isnt a race but nobody is talking about kicking out the indonesians or the malaysians or even the sudanese out, just the middle eastern people.

One of the far-right lunatics that just got elected to the senate is even making headlines overseas for his insane views:

One of Australia's new senators has said climate change is a global conspiracy created by bankers seeking to establish a worldwide government.

Malcolm Roberts won a Queensland Senate seat as member of the anti-immigration One Nation party in recent elections.

He says the United Nations is using climate change to lay the foundations for an unelected global government.

His previous writing indicates that he believes a shadowy cabal of bankers is controlling world affairs.

These new One Nation senators are in the news today.

PAULINE Hanson’s One Nation party has found itself in a spot of hot water after newly elected Senator Rodney Culleton was arrested and thrown into police custody.

The Western Australian senator was arrested in NSW this morning after Mr Culleton attempted to squash a prior larceny conviction in Armidale’s local court, but his plan backfired after he visited Armidale police station.

Mr Culleton was initially convicted earlier this year but because of his absence from court an outstanding warrant was issued for his arrest.

He was convicted in his absence earlier this year for stealing a tow truck key from a driver who was trying to repossess one of his company cars in 2014.

Despite Mr Culleton being elected as a senator in WA, the conviction prevents him from taking office.

Mr Culleton is also awaiting trial in WA later this month — the week before parliament begins — after he was arrested and charged for allegedly stealing a car being used by receivers from RSM Bird Cameron as they began foreclosure proceedings at a friend’s farm.

Not really. It was more about where they got their votes from; not whether they are fit for office or not

Then again, Benny Wacka put us all right with his in depth contribution

Righto I thought you were asking about what they are likely to represent which is really a damn hard question.

Where then votes came from. Well the far right in my opinion would have been a good place to start but also the angry white male in there mid 30's and 40's would have been a surprising one in my opinion. They may fit into the far right or maybe it was just a stick up the government vote. No idea to tell, the only thing we know for certain is that she is in and has a few interesting friends with her.

The interesting thing is one of her platforms is selling land to foreigners. I would have thought that would cross over the entire spectrum. Plenty of lefties don't want our land sold off as well.

By developing new infrastructure, there is the possibility of increased jobs for the northern suburbs - a significant issue for this area, even without the impending closure of Holden.

A better, more efficient train service will see developers opening up some of the land along the train line that is currently lying dormant, thus producing more employment opportunities in the development of housing, plus opening up new business/employment opportunities once people start residing in the area.

Currently, the train line's electrification is funded to Salisbury. What will happen to people going further north than Salisbury when the electrification kicks in and the remainder of the track is not electrified?

Yeah Im sure they'll appreciate that 5 seconds they save from the better acceleration when the entire line shuts down (efficiently) like the Noarlunga line did. Will make a big difference to their lifestyles. Massive issue.
How will it work when the Seaford line relies on one part which doesnt have a replacement anywhere in the world. Share it?
As said before, as a weekly user of the service I'd much prefer an extra carriage thrown on and get where Im going 2 seconds later.
Even better, spend the money on Main North Rd. What a nightmare it is. The train is fine.

and dredging up an old post, but the seaford line is shut down yet again.

one would have thought that it would have been designed to cope with a bit of wind. im sure the users of the gawler line are really unhappy that they can actually get home this afternoon, rather than all of the southern suburbs people presumably jumping on buses.

Seafood and Tonsley lines stopped again yesterday due to overhead cables being blown down. Diesel engines still went strong on the Northern lines.
