I'm conflicted about this.
Best sportsperson every 4 years yes.
For best sportsperson of all time, I would be looking at someone who is doing it week in week out every year.
Floyd Mayweather?
Michael Jordan?
Serena Williams?
Roger Federer?

Interesting debate. Phelps has claims to being the best Olympian of all time, perhaps not so much the best sportsman of all time.

When you look at Phelps the bloke is just born to swim... Big long arms and clearly a super tank.
1961, 1971, 1976, 1978, 1983, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1991, 2008, 2013, 2014, 2015.... And don't you forget it!

Nice to see the Ozzy ladies knock over the Dutchies in the beach volleyball.

Particularly since the Ozzies wear proper skimpy two-pieces but the Dutchies wear a full body suit. Way to ruin an otherwise enjoyable spectator sport.

Every 4 years? They do swim at other times of the year.

Being at the absolute pinnacle of his sport for 16+ years, that has to put him in the conversation
