O'Meara met with Essendon officials yesterday. I'm sure most clubs would meet him at some stage though so not getting too excited.
With a heap of good picks and plenty of cap room I think we will have a crack at a few big fish but doubtful we will catch any

Love the way this long standing myth is portrayed. Was true in the Sheedy era but different these days

If his medicals checked out then definately worth something around that mark. I still think we will try and do a swap of some picks with GWS or the GC to get 2 top 10 picks in

With NicNat requiring a full recon will the Eagles target someone like Minson from the Dogs or go for Lobb from GWS to help Lycett. They are saying NicNat wont be back till July 2017 at best.

Thoughts anyone?????

With Barrass moving ahead of McKenzie he could be used for trade to get Lobb. 2014 Worsfold Medallist. He would still have a fair bit of currency

Possibly, yeah. GWS could do with another Key Defender.

You would still need to find a lot more though, Ruckmen who can play forward are about the rarest of breeds

Won't be giving our number 1 pick away.
Unless, we take Lobb for pick 12 and MacKenzie, then trade Nic Nat next year for Fyfe. :D

Yep, they won't part with Lobb for anything less than a top 5 pick.
He has also recently refuted claims he wants to go home also

From afl.com

JAEGER O'Meara has dropped a bomb on Gold Coast, requesting a trade after five years at the club.
It's a huge blow for the Suns, who are also likely to lose fellow out of contract midfielder Dion Prestia.
Gold Coast released a statement on Thursday afternoon saying it would drive a hard bargain for O'Meara's services at the trade table.

"As Jaeger doesn't qualify as a free agent, AFL rules dictate he holds no rights to determine his destination of choice," chairman Tony Cochrane said.

"With that being the case, Jaeger is on the market to a club that can provide us compensation we are prepared to accept.

"Should an appropriate exchange not be met he will have the option to enter the draft.

"It's the right time for the club to make a stance."

It is believed midfielder O'Meara wants to head to a Melbourne-based club.

That's some pretty aggressive talk. With both Prestia and O'Meara going I wonder whether that gives them more or less bargaining power. If they play hard ball and get a great price for one, will it be deemed a win even if the other leaves for nothing?
