I'll stab at:

1. Mills
2. Daniel
3. Parish
4. Weitering
5. Petracca

There's a lot of love from the media pundits for Petracca, who may well have the brightest future of the group, but I don't think he's done enough this year from what I've seen to finish ahead of several of those other names.

Weitering
Parish
Daniel
Mills
Petracca

I reckon key position in a struggling side is the hardest position out of any of the nominees so think Weitering gets the nod. Also alot of key position types on the selection panel.
Half back in the minor premiers team is probably the easiest position so i have marked down Mills for that reason. although having said that Parish playing midfield in one of the worst AFL teams of all time where opposition paid no respect to the entire team hardly makes his season fantastic either. May also be why Merret didnt make top 40

Surely it's harder to stand out in a good team compared to an average one?

Callum Mills wins the Rising Star award, to the surprise of no-one.
