No brainer for the 5 nominated for the swans. Really good effort by them. Would be surprised if any of them missed out

I wouldn't have Gaff in there but Zac isn't going to knock the big dogs out. Maybe in a few years time

Harry Taylor's direct opponents kicked half as many goals as Talia's this year. Harry is actually top of the list for this in the AFL.
Bit unlucky?

I don't watch a lot of Geelong, do Taylor and Talia play in a similar area in the defensive 50? I would think Talia plays the deeper role and would be a more direct comparison to Lonergan but could be wrong.

Lonergan averages less goals kicked on him than Tahlia too.
Harry's so far in front of every other key defender in the AFL it's not funny though.
He's drifted forward no less than most of his career, in 2012 and 2013 he was used up forward heaps though.
I can't remember a bad game from Harry this year and he's been exceptional in most. Maybe he just set such a high standard early in his career that we look at his other seasons as average despite being one of the best going around.

Yeah. But AA doesn't really concern me much, just an interesting talking point.
I'd hope those selectors involved would do a lot more study and have a lot more knowledge than I do (and I'm sure they do).

Stats don't lie... But how often does Taylor play on the oppositions best forward? Rarely I would say.

Quite often but it depends on the speed/body shape more than who is the best forward as Loner grab will usually take the taller bulkier forward. More of an issue is the guys each player has around them as I'd say Harry's job is a lot easier than Talia's in that aspect reinforcing Talia's selection.
