Commiseration to West Croydon as well, they're a strong footy club, sure they will bounce back.

But honestly, BoG today was...

HA! Thanks for your help today Morell, you're a legend.

What a day! We were worried that the ressies game was going to be called off there for a while, after Leigh Bottrell was sent to hospital with what could've been possible neck/back fracture. I really hope his injuries aren't as serious as that. If someone could update us on his progress, it'd be much appreciated.

A tiring but great day, good and well behaved crowd.

Congrats to the Cats - it was your day.

I really feel for Matty McPherson and the WC boys though, losing their first game of the year in the one that mattered most.

I'll just leave you all with this - wishful thinking in it's finest form ;)

that police station story is bullshit anyway its not cops at the police station that respond its police out on patrol

dont know if you knew this F.C but salisbury have a police station less then 2 minutes away

Maybe it was part of the negotiations for them returning.

Think about this - why did the League put Smithfield at St Mary's - and WC and WS at Edwardstown? As far as possible from home territory? Would that discourage some less than enthusiastic and die hard club "followers" from attending? Maybe would have been too far for people to "jump on the bandwagon"?

Plenty of theories abound to discredit the league's decisions and that will never change, sadly.

Leafy Bottrell spent the night in hospital with fractured chest plate and a dislocated collarbone. No neck or back issues luckily! Is a good lad and hoping for a speedy recovery.

Ouch. Although still a nasty injury, it's a far better prognosis than the back/neck injury we suspected he may have had.

Well done to the WC trainers and to a girl whose name was Lauren I think, who held his head dead still for insane amount of time before the Ambo's got there.

Well done to the CEO for having impeccable timing in arriving at the oval, just as i was ringing him to find out how much time we had to play with before having to call off the game.

Good to hear the injury isn't as severe as first thought - scary stuff and a terrible way to end your season!

Also glad the GF ended up being played out, think it would be a really ordinary way to win/lose a GF having only played a half and a severe injury halting play for an extended period before being called off - don't know if you could truly celebrate the win.

Have to feel for WC.. Literally losing 1 game all year and have to go through the effort again in the same division in 2017.. 1 win from promotion for the third year running, would be heart breaking..

Be interesting if they keep everyone together for 1 more crack at it again next year. If they do, I cant see many sides getting close..

Glad to hear Bottrell isn't as serious as first thought. As in he should make a full recovery. Still sounds horribly painful, but nothing compared to permanent neck/back damage..

100% agree! They've well paid their dues and deserve to go up - this was their year after unfortunately being caught behind some very strong sides in recent years, and then to go all the way to the big dance, tick all the boxes along the way and fall short... devastating!

Will be interesting to see what the outcome of their 5 reports this year will be. Obviously the league were waiting for the outcome of this game to make a final decision. consistency will see some fallout.
