Well done to my employer, a very large Telco, who chose RUOK Day to announce the proposed closure of an entire section and retrenchment of 27 staff in SA (53 Australia wide).

Very poor timing to say the least. You avoid the axe, Kahuna?

I did Magellan but, it is not quite as cut an dried as that. Not meaning to be too cryptic but there are some things I can't really post at the minute.

Given that none of us here are ever likely to be in that situation, it's hard to know what is going through someones head just before that big game, or after they've won that medal.

You can't bag a person for that.

A bit different when you're representing Australia as opposed to your club I would've thought.

Sort of agree, I don't think we need 'Merican type belting it out on the terraces style but at least pretending to mouth the words would be sufficient.

Bristle and Lingy doing half time from the Kangaroos changerooms.
WHY? They had to whisper the whole thing so as not to disrupt anything...HELLO, they're disrupting everything just being there.

We don't want or need to see them resting and drinking their bloody powerade.

Do your half time cross from the broadcast box, if I were North Melbourne I would've told them to GTFO.

Completely agree Macca.

Ditto with the Last Post. That should only be played on Anzac Day.

In the old days, no-one really sung the national anthem (except perhaps children at school). It's a thing that has to be observed but not necessarily sung.

one of the highlights about attending an American pro sport event is their Anthem... It's awesome...

I got no issue with the Yankee anthem.
The problem with our anthem is that it doesn't really generate any strong emotion through the tune or lyrics
