He's a Clayton's Captain - the captain you have when you're not having a captain.

We've had a few of them.

Nice of the SMA to allow us to train at the oval.

Nice.

No kidding?
Just for comparison, I wonder what the Crows training restrictions are on AO this week? It'd have to be the same, seeing as half their squad will be playing South on that same surface, in a semi final no less.

That might be the case, however IF the end result is the Crows/Ravens are allowed greater access owing to their AFL status, it would hardly be fair on the side that has to play them. Imagine only training on the wings when you are due to play a semi final on that same, unfamiliar surface. Even if the same restrictions apply to the Ravens they still have the advantage of training/playing at the venue throughout the season. It is just another sign of how the Ravens just don't work in the SANFL.

I seem to remember the Eagles trained on Football Park (like, the whole oval) once before every final they played there.

Every club bar South got to train there before the finals......South had theirs cancelled at the last minute and the chance they do get it is severely restricted.

Just add it to the list of an uneven playing field for all teams. If it was just that you would go oh well bad luck and move on.....

AFL goal posts are just that little bit taller and stronger than SANFL ones ;)

It's not a real goalpost if you can't chop it down and use it to stoke a post-match barbie.

I would have thought goal kicking practice would be valuable, especially at the river end.

My point is, cordoning off part of the Oval didn't begin when the Ravens joined the comp. It was certainly the case at Footy Park earlier this decade when I watched Norwood train during finals. It's far from ideal, but not a new problem.

Not contesting that at all JK. I'm asking the question, are the Ravens similarly restricted? And, if not, wouldn't that present yet another advantage on top of all the others?

Went and watched the Roos train on AO tonight, the field is immaculate, they are playing footy not golf, letting the players inside 50 for half an hour will make no difference at all.
