Wins the AFL Players captain of the year

Does that come under "utter BS" in thread title

Yep because you know more about what tex is like as a captain than his teammates and opponents...

For someone learning English as his second language one must agree he does quite well.

And considering he can Handball both feet, probably a deserved winner

Let's not forget the past 14 months he has led a team who went through a most tragic situation and had done it with absolute aplomb

He is universally loved in the industry and if you have ever had the pleasure of meeting the bloke 1 on 1 he is a such a genuine, down to earth character who makes time for anyone. It's hard not to like the guy when you meet him face to face and when you take off the rivalry cap you will see the Crows this year were just as consistent as any team in the AFL (What this translates to in coming days we will see). Other clubs see and experience this week by week and I am stoked the guy leads the club. He hasn't got the flags ect, doesn't mean he's not the best leader with all the cards he's dealt with.

Walsh did some unbelievable achievements in his short time at the Crows, his belief in and development of this bloke from the start is his best work imo. I love having Texy lead our club.

Absolutely agree with your thoughts LK
Comes to CLG to watch his mates play footy and gives anyone time that talks to him with no complaints. Even picks up his dogs crap off the oval holding the game up

Matthew Egan has departed the Bombers. Egan coached the Bombers' VFL team in 2016 as well as being in charge of development at the club. He was installed as interim coach of Essendon for three matches after James Hird was sacked at the end of the 2015 season.

Egan first joined the Bombers as an assistant coach in 2012.

Anyone get the feeling that Jobe Watson is waiting for Sydney's campaign to finish and then will announce he will go there?

Sad to see Egan go, he did a good job and was well liked but we just couldn't offer him that next step he desires.
With Caracella leaving the Cats he could end up there and he has also been linked to Richmond and Brisbane.

Daniel Wells potentially to the crows is my mail. Will play out more once the Crows campaign is done.

I hear Collingwood are into Wells as well.
Why would Crows get a guy who will be 32 by the time 2017 season starts? I call bullshit

And in an odd occasion I actually agree with you. Absolute bullshit of the highest order.

Just looking at where the Crows are at and there squad and especially there depth I cant see what a 32 year old will bring them. They look to be in a good position in terms of list management.

Did you see what I put in the WCE thread mate?

Lycett might need a recon, his PCL maybe worse than first thought. So that's Natanui and potentially Lycett out for the year. Leaves only Giles to do the ruck work, unless you can get Lobb from GWS.

Strange move with Kennedy and Darling up front, unless they see Darling as trade bait?

The Greenfield Post can exclusively reveal that journalists from Australia’s biggest newspapers, TV stations and radio outlets actually have no ******* idea where players will or will not be traded.

Our yearlong investigation into the fraudulent claims made by so called ‘experts’ dates back to the baseless rumours that Ollie Wines would be lining up for Carlton this season, with the young gun then ‘sensationally back flipping’ and singing a three-year deal to remain with the Power.

The Wines gossip – like 95 per cent of the ‘exclusives’ on player movements – turned out to be complete malarkey. But the truth behind the nonsensical trade whispers is much, much darker.

“It’s all about selling newspapers and getting clicks on websites,” our insider revealed.

“Just because a teams out of the finals and no longer playing, doesn’t mean they still can’t dominate the back pages.

“Look at the Pies, they haven’t played finals in four seasons but the black and white still sells papers.

“Do you honestly think any team would be ‘interested’ in Chris Mayne? It’s laughable how gullible the public is.”

When quizzed on how the so-called ‘exclusives’ are formed, our insider was refreshingly honest.

“There’s no divide between news outlets, all the big wigs get together in the front bar at the Young & Jackson – Caro, Barrett, Stevo – and they just smash pints and laugh about who can devise the biggest ‘exclusive,” our source said.

“Not Robbo though, he’s not invited. He just takes the rumours and runs with them.”

Sometimes the dartboard method appears to pay off, but the source says that’s down to pure luck.

“They get lucky occasionally, like that Jono Brown to Collingwood rumour a few years back,” our source said.

“That was one of Caro’s; she nearly cried with laughter when it turned out to be true in his autobiography!”

When asked which rumour we can expect to dominate the back pages this trade period, our source was quick to the point.

“Hutchy’s pushing us all to pedal the Gary Ablett back to Geelong thing, but we’re really loving Nat Fyfe to St Kilda. We really want to see Warnie get right up and about.”

Yes I did see that, and I guess Petrie would be looked at as a ruckmen. Giles being the main man would be a worry. But I would say or expect us to maybe use the rookie list here and draft a mature age ruckmen as backup thats not cooked.
