I noticed Dale having a conversation with Big Mal from the Roos during the third quarter of the B's, thought he was applying for the vacant coaching job at Mt B. Evidently he was asking about what the proceedings were before the bounce of the ball in the A's. You would think he would have done his home work and had that all clear in his mind well before the game. Well done to all the teams on making the GF in particular to the Maggies on achieving 5 out of 6 grand finals, would think that's a record that will stand for quiet a while if not forever.

Well that was an excellent finish to the season.
Hats of to Hahndorf for being able to win 5 out of 6 premierships.

Did anyone see that last quarter coming from their A grade.
An extraordinary turn around!!

Agree, hats off. The 3rd quarter belonged to Torrens Valley and that quarter is traditionally called the Premiership Quarter! To keep Torrens Valley to just 3 points was pretty amazing, it is a reflection of how dominant that Hahndorfs onballers were - they simply outran them. You could almost see Torrens Valley drop it after Wittwer kicked that running goal from the outer pocket/flank (the first one, not the second one were he spolied the kick off the mark collected it ran into open goal, it was over by then). It was pretty amazing to watch 2 x teams who were neck and neck the for 3 x qrtrs and then watch that last quarter!

Now that the season is over, let the silly season begin.

Anyone heard and coaching movement rumours.

Cant see them finishing above Bridgewater, Kersbrook or Birdwood.

I assume you were talking about Div 2 premiership ??

I was being completely flippant....however you are most likely correct in your Div 2 summary. I have no idea what will transpire in the off season. I was simply taking the piss!

We are assuming of course that there will be a board around to run the Hills Football League... Looks a bit thin on the ground - I was a bit shocked to see the board at the game on Saturday - shocked in that there wasnt many of them and without sound rude they are getting on a bit. I give them all credit for their devotion, but gee surely the clubs have some retired people in their circles that they could put forward? Maybe every club should be asked to find and nominate a person to put up on the board and then everyone votes. That would mean around 18 options...?? Or is that just too simplistic?

Despite the controversies late in the season, Hills League Board have done a great job running the comp. Only have to see the professionalism of the finals series in both divisions to see that.
Trouble with running a league though, is that there are extremely passionate people from extremely passionate clubs that magnify every little miss step made. The finals permit saga is a good example of this. A small governance slip up caused a major issue, and resignations and so on. Steady thoughtful people are required on the board. Club "Barrackers" would not be a good thing. The question would be weather the clubs would pursue individual club interest - or overall league health interest.

This is surely a p1ss take!!
These "small governance slip-ups" are consistently happening by the same few and doesn't look like improving any time soon.

No doubt club personnel pursue club interest which is not always for the betterment of the league - but this is what they are elected to do by their club members.
The HFL board members are elected to do what is best for the league in total - not any individual club - which is what seems to happen at times.
