I saw glimpses of what Cameron is capable of but he isnt the panacea we are after. We do need a half forward who is capable of breaking a line though but I doubt Adelaide will give him up easily.

Yeah I'd rather a first rounder and McGovern instead.

Crows fans, what would you rather lose?

13 + McGovern or;
13+ Cameron

Not sure I like either of those options. Both are well entrenched in our best team IMHO and both have massive upside to them. Neither are as good as GIbbs right now, but they'll both be trotting around in a decade while Gibbs will likely be done in 5. Of those two players though, McGovern is probably the more expendable, although as a tall marking forward might also have more market value. Cameron just offers something unique in our team, while MCGovern is already sharing a forward line with Walker, Jenkins and Lynch.

McGovern has some serious quality even star quality tony modra like quality

Cameron too is a andrew mcleod clone

Gibbs and his $600, 000 contract aint worth what these 2 kids will be providing by 2018. Although will mcgovern eventually free agency back to the west

I have heard this, yes - cant remember the name though. Essendon were thinking about using pick 1 on him. So maybe these other picks will get them enough points?

No, we are looking at bidding on Bowes who is a Suns academy player and rated a top 5.

Essendon surely will take McCluggage over McGrath and Bowes, he is a game breaker and is a proven goal kicker already.

I think we will bid on Bowes knowing they will match and forcing them to pay a fair price.
I still think we will choose McGrath over McCluggage but would be happy with either. McGrath is ready to go and could play 15-20 games for us next year, has an amazing leap for his type, will probably start as a defender and once he builds his tank will be a very good mid

Lynch the latest crow discussed in a trade for Gibbs. Draft picks getting complicated though, as it may involve a 3rd club, probably gws to get m'bank on board too.
I'd take McGovern over lynch.

Remember mcleod was once a measly unregarded foward pocket player too for a few years

Carlton getting mcgovern would be like getting josh kennedy back remembering he too was once a clumsy non impact sort kid once too

They both have talent and there is the chance either one could be a star. Not sure about the comparison to McLeod, reckon there's a ball use differential there. But can and will are two very different things. Certainly there have been more talented kids washed up by 25. A punt either way, but as I said, reckon one of those and pick 13 for Gibbs might be a bit more than I'd personally be willing to pay. What might make it easier is whether we have a surplus of one type and the potential for a wish to move down the track.

Reading on the AFL website it looks like GWS are going to try to trade for pick 2 so they dont get outbidded on Setterfield after they pick McGrath or McCluggage

I love Charlie but he ain't no McLeod clone. McLeod was a freak and his balance for a bloke going full tilt and disposing the footy is the best I have ever seen on any footballer. Charlie's disposal when going flat stick needs improvement but considering he's only been playing AFL for 5 years he's heading in the right direction.

The only way this deal with Gibbs is getting done is by involving GWS in it. Either way Crows will have to pay overs to get him.

I opened my membership renewal notice the other day and put it on my desk to read later.

I had a look tonight. Two players are illustrated. Murphy the captain being one and Cripps the other. The vice captain Gibbs no where to be seen.

Gibbs has about 50 games left in him as an agrader

Last year 2015 to call anyone at carlton an agrader would have been the biggest joke in safooty history
(And im a carlton supporter)

More like pick 13 and send menzel back to blues will suffice

Gibbs was mentioned in the media weeks ago about leaving 2 years in to his contract. Both parties had plenty of notice behind closed doors. Shit like this doesn't happen over night in multi million $ organisations.

This is something I definitely don't agree with. If Carlton managed to get market value for Gibbs it would be a win given their list management position. Frankly, I just don't see any way the Gibbs/Murphy/Kruezer era will end before Carlton get anywhere near a premiership window. To be able to get something for even one of those, plus the cap space it gives them going forward would be a great result. Plus I just don't see that Adelaide would be so desperate to grab him they would pay overs.

The Swans will today hold talks today in the hopes of securing Joel Hamling from the Bulldogs. His manager says Hamling is excited about the trade but the Bulldogs are still slightly reluctant.

Interesting to see Gibbs played every game this year but finished 4th in the B&F. Maybe internally he is not rated as high.

Of course he's excited. Imagine the laughs he'll get when he whips out* his 2016 premiership medallion in the change rooms.
