I could imagine he is. Over time I've really grown to appreciate Thommo he's one of the few genuine hard nuts we have and although doesn't have much of a kick and gives away the odd silly free he's one player you always know that is giving 100% and won't stop trying.

I think he's much more important to our side than a lot of people realise and I'm glad he's playing on next year albeit most likely in the SANFL and only called up to play the odd game when injuries/form dictate. It's a bit difficult for me to say this about a Port Magpies lad but I'm very grateful for everything he's done for the Crows over his career.

Lyons is shitty with the contract so he's asked for a trade*

*which means Adelaide knew exactly what they were doing with the deal.

I think his skills and kicking are often undervalued. Not a super long kick, but would be about average and hits a target as well as most mids who play his role. The percentages go down mostly because of the proportion of his kicks that are quick kicks out of a pack.

Has he missed the last 40 years?

Mahoney is talking in the present. "Are" being the present tense should be your clue here. Last 40 years are irrelevant to his comment.

I think he'll play the majority in the AFL Crows, he has plenty to offer around the ground or to free up other players to be more flexible.

He should play the year in the AFL but wasn't that supposedly the terms of the new deal as he transitions into retirement/coaching?

Tony Sheahan (journo who correctly picked the Buddy to Sydney trade) reckons Sydney are ready to make a late play for Jaeger O'Meara, which could see Tippett on his way to the Suns.

Have North done anything this trade period other than lose Wells?

So it's -

Out - Wells, Harvey, Petrie, Dal Santo, Potato

In - Ahern ( who just had an ACL and won't play in '17 ) picks 11,32,33 87

Their third rounder and fourth rounder are gone from the Bastinac deal last year and Ahern this year.

Didn't tom Harley say Tippett was off the table?

Richmond has released a statement from list manager Dan Richardson after securing Dion Prestia on a five-year contract.

The Tigers thanked Gold Coast and Prestia's manager, Marty Pask, for getting the deal done.

"We identified Dion earlier this year as a player that we wanted at our football club, he’s a power runner, highly competitive and impacts games significantly," Richardson said.

"Dion’s management made it clear to us that he was keen to return to Victoria to be closer to his family, and we’re really pleased for our Club that he chose Richmond as his preferred destination.

"At 24 years of age, Dion has many years of good football ahead of him, he’s also a person of great character, and being vice-captain at the Gold Coast Suns, he has great leadership qualities also."

Everyone is off the table until they're on it.

Lyons wanted to stay but we offered him a low contract. If a deal wasn't on then Crows would have upped there offer to Lyons to satisfy him. Lyons unfortunately looks like the sacrifice for another trade/midfielder.

RICHMOND has boosted its ruck stocks with Toby Nankervis joining the club from the Sydney Swans.

The Tigers gave up a third-round pick (currently No.46) in exchange for the big Swan.
