From Triple M facebook

Hawthorn finally landed their man with just a few minutes left in the trade window today, with the Hawks finally getting a deal done with Gold Coast for talented but injury-prone youngster Jaeger O’Meara.
The deal took basically the entire trade period because the Suns weren’t satisfied with several of Hawthorn’s offers, but it eventually got done for Hawthorn’s pick 10 in this draft, and a second-round pick for 2017 that the Hawks had gotten from Carlton because they weren't allowed to trade their own.
The deal meant that the Hawks have traded away a huge amount of assets to get O’Meara, having swapped picks with St Kilda in order to get their hands on pick 10 which is now Gold Coast’s.
After factoring in the swaps made to get the currency for O’Meara together, the trade now looks like this for Hawthorn:

OUT:
Pick 10 (traded in from St Kilda then out to Gold Coast)
Pick 23 (traded in from Fremantle for Brad Hill then out to St Kilda for pick 10)
Pick 36 (traded to St Kilda for pick 10)
Pick 48 (traded in from Melbourne for Jordan Lewis then out to Carlton for future second rounder)
Pick 66 (traded in from Melbourne for Jordan Lewis then out to Carlton for future second rounder)
Pick 70 (traded in from West Coast for Sam Mitchell then out to Carlton for future second rounder)
2017 first round pick (traded to St Kilda for pick 10)
Carlton’s 2017 second round pick (on-traded to Gold Coast)

IN:
Jaeger O’Meara

Phew. It’s a lot for a bloke who’s missed two years through injury.
After all their wheeling and dealing, Hawthorn's first pick in the draft is now 88.
The Hawks will be praying their medical staff can get Jaeger on the park next season

Little like your constant whining about the Crows when you should be more worried about your own club. Unimpressive.

Are you impressed with Reid's & your club's performance?

on 2015s form, pick 43 is awesome
on 2016s form, pick 43 is unders
funny how one year of footy can change a perception...
I think between CEY, Milera, Hampton and Wigg we can cover Lyons next year but yes we definetly havent improved obviously and will be relying on the growth of the listed players.

He's still sore about those consecutive prelim finals losses to the Crows. An E for only losing Lyons? Still a dropkick.

There would be some pretty angry grand parents in adelaide tonight possibly 2 sets

The wife of gibbs stuck in melbourne on her own with a new born baby whilst he's out kicking a footy all day and shes miles away from her family mum and dad plus step mum and dad the move to crows was likely her decision i doubt shes gonna stick around in melbourne for another year

And in a years time gibbs would be possibly too old to even go for?

Is he able to walk on on blues and do crows have a preseason draft pick?

Else he might be stuck in melbourne on his own whilst his missus moves back to adelaide with the new baby :D

Or how the lovers rated Lyons but now losing him hasn't weakened your midfield much.

Unfortunately that the price you pay if you want to get paid ridiculous money for playing a sport and sign a contract with that length of time.

The draft has been in place for a while now and Gibbs new this when he entered the AFL

His fault for signing a massively front loaded 5 year contract. Only 3 options for him now.
1- He plays out the remaining 3 years of his contract.
2- He sits out of footy for the next 3 years
3- He plays this year and seeks another trade at seasons end

You know that trading isn't the only way clubs improve, right? Trades can be great, but you don't just go around sending blokes and picks to clubs just to satisfy those who want to see action. If Adelaide wasn't able to get any players at a price that made us a winner in that trade, then so be it. Sometimes the best decision a list manager can make is to say no.
