Nice job.

First 9 I got plenty of halves.
And finished there at -1

Back 9 for the most part was disappointing.

My old 7 iron is longer than the new one....

Next week one of the lads booked us in for 8-30 off the first
Much prefer opening up on a longer hole than the par 3

79 off the stick for +4

Started with a Birdie 2 for a plus and more than likely closest to pin, didn't get a minus till the 8th with a 6 on the par 4 index 1. Only got 1 other minus and that was the 18th missed a 3 foot putt for the half index 18

Overall very happy with 6 pluses, 2 minus and 10 halfs. I'd take that when playing every week let alone not playing for nearly 2 months.

Come in exactly a full point on my handicap  pricks!

The good part is in my last 20 rounds 18,19 and 20 are all flagged rounds. So they'll drop off. Depending on how my next 3 rounds go.

39pts today at Mount Barker (it's good to be back home) shared the afternoon "pool" with a young lad... Few beers and old mates... Gold!

Lose a ball on the first hole from the tee shot, problem is it wasn't a bad slice or anything, looked to be just on the tree line.
Another lost ball on the 4th, again just in the tree line.
27pts
One of the lads in the group had a 42pts with a scrub....puts card through, some bloke on same handicap 23, had 47pts...

Another hit today down at Murray Bridge (last for a while) could only muster 30pts. Hit a few good shots, but mixed it with some fair shyte..... May have to go back to cricket at this rate!

Echunga yesterday morning, first hit for a couple of months.

Started well, parred the first. Then went on a bogey fest. Chipping and approaches appalling.

Climaxed* on the 8th with a 10m tee shot, which was lucky not to be an airy (and doubly lucky we were off the social tees so it didnt event count as a fanny!).

Regrouped with a couple of pars early on the back 9 before the weather hit- sideways rain and galeforce winds). Good times.

Battled though with 28 points. Actually not too disappointed considering the lack of game time recently and the conditions.

Good- driving (bar the previously mentioned one), long /mid irons, putting.

Bad- approach shots, chipping.

Have a couple more games in this year's programme which I should get to. May put some time in at the range too.

Par on the 1st @ Royal Echunga is always a good score. With such small greens there, you do a lot of chipping, so if that part of your game is off. scoring can be difficult. I always found the back 9 a fair bit easier than the front.

How were the greens??? They were cored a few weeks ago, are they coming back??

Yeah. No obvious core holes anymore, but still a bit sandy and slow. Couple more weeks they should be shmick.
