Am I one of the few regular punters that doesn't rate the Melbourne Cup? For me an overhyped distance race.

So far had a bet in each Flemington race.....except the Cup

Agree, its a Handicap... but the reason I Punt on it (Trifecta) is the Pool is so large - very few Races have a Pool as big

Fair call Brod, I only really have a dip like LPH due to the size of the pools. The Cup is usually the most annoying 2-3 minutes of the day with once a year punters cheering their horse from the second it leaves the gate til post race. Can never really hear the race so I always take my tranny (not that type, he stays at home til later). Good luck to all. Also FWIW one of my most respected tipsters has labelled the Favourite in the first "a living breathing certainty". Too short for mine though so I've thrown a dart and taken it on.

Yes true, but it is usually still the best race, albeit a lottery, on what is normally an ordinary day of racing.
Anyway #13 in the lottery for me.
