Oh dear, you'll miss the Melbourne Cup.

Poor you.

Luckily, and by a major stroke of luck, many of my clients congregate at my local hotel. I ask them quite often of an afternoon if they're interested in purchasing anything, they haven't taken up the offer yet but hey, I'll keep pushing as you just never know. ;)

I used to go to the local at lunch on Melbourne Cup day to put all the Cup day specialists bets on from work as they didn't know how to fill the tickets out.
My boss at the time insisted that we have a quiet sneaky pint and then I had to buy one in return as a good gesture, the chick only charged me $2 for my round so my boss kept telling me to keep trying to get her to serve me. We made it back just in time for the race with about 3 chewies each in our mouths.

I'm not allowed to do the pub run anymore for some reason?

I am working from home everyday for now. Saw the NFL this morning, Cup tomorrow, Golf Wed arvo, Test starts Thursday.... I really hate this arrangement!

Masters have got some items up to 70% off in their liquidation sale. If you're in the market for a BBQ, or outdoor furniture, in fact anything out doorsy, Masters this weekend must be on your hit list.

Pity that I'm the brokest I've been since my marriage died. It's been the toughest month in the last 50, there is a strong light at the end of the tunnel and it all turns around Monday.

It has been a good learning curve for me though.

Other than walking into a complete cluster **** of people all wondering "Should I buy it?", Masters have some massive savings.

The limited power tools remaining are 40% off the marked price ( Mrs Boon needed a new blower for her workplace and brought a Black and Decker rechargeable that was $189 ticket price for $114 ) and if you're a handy man or have a fetish for fixings, screws, nails etc, head down there as they are basically giving that shit away. I stocked up on timber and galv screw packets of various gauges and lengths as well as a heap of roofing nails, smaller nails and some hinges and bits and pieces.

Three day week, then the Mrs and I are heading down to Pt Fairy in Victoria over the weekend for one of her friends weddings.

Going to take it easy, see if we can do some sight seeing on the way to and from the town.

Should be a good break.

Pretty sure the weddings at the golf course, so we'll see that, and we might check out the pub on our first night.

Also thinking of hitting up Beachport on the way back. $30 campsite to christen the new tent we got about 9 months ago.
