You're kidding??

Head averages less than 35 in 1st class cricket. Ferg averages over 40. Ferguson had to play before Head. Patterson has to play before Head too as he averages over 40 too.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Jake Lehmann averages 48 in 1st class cricket. 29 Innings. Do they pick him?

He has to come into calculations. As does Patterson from NSW.

Last round of Shield matches almost every innings (except SA) the top order failed:

WA 6/99 & 3/24
NSW 3/57 & 7/94

TAS 98 & 4/18 vs SA

QLD 4/11 & 5/53
VIC 2/8 & DNB

Would happily see Jake Lehmann picked, despite his old man not being a selector having Darren as a father could work against Jake while his the coach.

Excellent little spell from Starc, we needed that. He got on a roll and his pace was right up. SA 4/100.

Lyon was getting some big turn and bounce.

We batted crap, they bowled well.

They batted better, we bowled pretty well and a great spell from Starc pulled it back a bit,

They have 2 very good batters at the crease, need to knock them over first thing tomorrow to have any chance.

I actually enjoyed watching today, rather see wickets fall than a 2/400 day

Yes it was definitely more entertaining than the run-fest between India and England.

It was noted on ABC radio that Ferguson never spent a season playing cricket in England in any form. Is that correct ? Seems strange considering in years gone by Australian players would go spent atleast a season over winter going to England to hone their batting craft. Yeah a crowded T20 cashed up incentive is probably hampering that but you still see the odd player doing it. Would've thought it would have helped in developing and tightening some batsman techniques etc.

Australians a lot better today, matched it with the Safricans, they still hold the cards though but may well be worried they could not put the Aussies away today :D :D

That's the problem with Australian selectors though, Ferguson is about to turn 32 next week, why debut a bloke in his early 30's when we're already shit? Pick the younger option with the bigger upside, unless of course Brad Scott is on the selection panel. ;)

Question also raising it's head now, who captains after Smith or even as a replacement should the weight be too heavy for him to carry?

There's nobody in the side who can do it, Oled Warner would have but he jobbed Root in the gob so he's not going to get the gig, after that who does it? Time to cut our losses, bring in some mid-20's with leadership potential and back them in for at least 12 months.

Voges and dare I say it Ferguson to make way for some youth.
PAFC. Forever.

LOOK OUT, WE'RE COMING!
