Able bodied people who aren't carrying anything with them using the elevator to go up one or two levels and/or worse using it to go down one or two levels. Piss taking and laziness of the highest order, it just really shits me. Use the stairs FFS.

Can't at our workplace. Stairs can only be used when there's a fire.

I'm hearing you, I hate it.

I've gotta move all my shit from Paralowie to Evanston for two weeks and then move it all again along with the missus' shit to Mawson Lakes following that.

A testament to how much I hate moving, I have recently sold my aquarium, pool table, a fridge, dining suite and bedroom suite as they are heavy and I didn't fancy moving them again, especially twice in a fortnight.

It wasn't me, unfortunately.

However, I don't mind traveling for groceries, as I do every week.

That makes me wish I had a grand to spend...

The folks who were meant to be helping us out with a trailer can't access the trailer now, and I'm not confident enough to not crash the trailer while driving myself.

They charge by the hour... $120. So depending the size of house etc, our new place is 2 story with narrow stairs, old house had long driveway and they couldnt get the truck close enough, probably added an hour to the day

So they load into the room in the new place?

I was just discussing this option with the missus last night. plus they have all the lifting shit you need to lug it upstairs.

We had everything boxed and bagged up, lounge, beds wardrobes etc were all still in place. They came in, had a look around at what we had then played tetris putting it in the truck. Made everything fit perfectly.
When at the new house everything pretty much went into the rooms that we wanted, they asked what boxes went were etc. Bedrooms set up how you want with wardrobe placement etc.
Beats doing it over 3 or 4 loads with a ute and trailer!

Thanks for the heads up, I have proper moving boxes that will be labelled by room, there is some heavy shit to go upstairs and I guess by the time I give my mate a slab for using his trailer, step-son $100 for helping me along with another couple of slabs and a heap of steaks for others that help, a few loads back and forth, no doubt some stuff broken on or lost, the headache and wear of lugging 4 bedrooms of stuff upstairs and how rooted I'll be for the next few days after, $1000 seems pretty reasonable.

Cost us under $400 to move a full truck load of gear (including fridges, beds, furniture, etc) from Salisbury and Prospect to Allenby Gardens, wouldn't have considered doing it myself! That was 11 months ago. I remember it was worth shopping around and getting recommendations.
