For burger lovers, there's a new joint on the Golden Way (Sunnybrook shops) at Wynn Vale called Hungry Hen. Stopped in last night on my way home, no seating, just take-away, but have a go. I rated their double stack burger as good as anything I've had in Adelaide, including 127 Days.

Highway Inn last Friday for a work show

22 of us tucked in to some pretty good food.

I went the Chicken Parmy and my actual schnitty was pretty bloody good.

A decent size, thick and tender (bit like what I used to pull at Lennies back in the day 8) ) and cooked so the crumbing was just right (not to doughy and not cremated)

A negative on the parmy was that the Neapolitana sauce and ham was scarce so it was basically a cheese topping (sauce may have soaked into the schnitty whilst under the bae marie).

Everyone else liked their food bar the girl who ordered a pizza where it came back undercooked. I personally reckon pubs should give up on Pizzas (see my review on the Holdy from July) as they can't get their grills hot enough to do them right. Another negative from those who had the pork belly was that it was sensation but should have been three portions of pork not two.

Overall a good feed, certainly above average for the pubs I've tried recently around Adelaide.

Four pints of WED ($28) and a Chicken Parmy came to $51 for me.

A solid 7.5

Why has coffee infested such a good thread? Surely it can be a separate thread?
I'm a man that is attracted to women, I drink beer not girly drinks.

PS Apparantley I make a great coffee, not that I've ever tasted it.

PPS People who buy coffee anywhere but coffee shops should be shot, wankers the lot of them.

People reviewing servo pies and Barnacle ******* Bills, but something that's savored the world over isn't acceptable. Hard to kick when the goal posts are moving.

As we have recently moved in right around the corner, we went there tonight specifically on this review.

While probably the best burger I've had from a fish n chip/chicken shop, it's certainly below the better dedicated burger shops around town.

It's not really new - been there for years with a different name. They renovated and changed the name to the Hungry Hen

I live about 90 seconds from there, but haven't had a burger there. I'll have to check it out.
I love 'Food and Stuff'. It's where I buy all of my food. And most of my stuff.

Went back last night for the regular burger with lettuce and tomato and all the regular stuff. Still good, but not on the level of the double stack. That thing was ridiculous.
