So where is it more likely he'll be, Southern Bulldog?

I have heard, from more than a few sources, that if he was coming back to SANFL then it was always going to be with the Dogs...

Time will tell though, Southern Bulldogs...

Time will tell...

Given Sturt won the GF by going in hard and playing tough, hard, contested footy, I'm not sure that Byron is the type of player that Sturt should pursue to be honest.

They just recruited Sam Colquhoun...

I know which club spoke to him
But he has signed with the Bulldogs hasn't he .

Let's just say once delisted players don't have to go back to the same SANFL club
Phil Raymond now retired when delisted didn't go back to Glenelg

Byron can really play but takes a lot of looking after and gets bored with things pretty quickly.

Will be surprised if he plays SANFL again, if the Sturt and Eagles hierarchy have a chat then Sturt may lose interest quickly.

Just couldn't quite nail down a permanent birth in the league side at the Eagles. Was a good clubman but probably not in Godden's plans for 2017 as he "needs to improve by 20%". Nice, friendly lad who probably didn't get enough possessions consistently and was up against stiff competition for a spot.
Will be interested to see if he can produce his best at West.

They dont have to anywhere. Typically they return to there sanfl club but thats just relationship based. No obligation to do so.

Always thought he should have been in the leagues side to be honest. Super fast, versatile and has the capability to play tall and small. No matter what he did (and he frequently was in the Reserves best players) Godden clearly was not going to play him last season. I actually thought it was surprising he stayed around as long as he did. Reckon West will get a good deal out of this.

So once again another players leaves the Eagles. How many have left now?

Are we going to recruit anyone?????

Agree with Wedgetail about Nathan Batley going to West. He may go ok here but he was not in our plans for 2017 so he had to move on along with a lot of reserves players who had reached the point of clogging up the system.

I was wrong thought he might fill in Luke jarrads role .
I got wind last week he was going to west .

At least he saw out the entire 2016 season couple who didn't spat the dummy during the year .

Maybe Glenelg and Centrals can do a deal. Glenelg get Hannath and Centrals get Johanssen

It is in SANFL transfer fee terms. It's quite a lot.

If there is a transfer fee and its 25K then that is ridiculous in todays terms. Is it not about time that a player is either contracted or a free agent like in soccer. If he wants to change clubs during contract period then a fee applies. It what was forced upon soccer when a guy called Bosman challenged transfer fees when uncontracted and on. Any challenge in court would win, Maybe a fee for juniors should apply.
