Yes, thanks Scott. I received the schedule from the club, but I can't enlarge it on my phone.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

3 byes,
to me 1 is enough (for a break mid season) if you really want to grow the brand.

yep. One is plenty. Long breaks hurt more than they help.

Vs Port, at the closest ground you can get to Port territory without actually being in it.
I think this one could be a battle between which supporter base will be the most disinterested.
Or, ironically, you might get your biggest crowd for the year for any game involving either of these, owing to the fact that they are playing an opponent that matters according to their respective supporter bases.
Adelaide usually take their home games v Port to the country don't they?

Not enough Eagles fans to warrant it. The SANFL didn't want a repeat of last year's fiasco.

Had a similar discussion on the other thread, it wasn't so much that the Eagles were involved, more so that the Eagles and West were playing each other.
Sturt v Eagles on Anzac Day at AO would be a different story. The SANFL have missed an opportunity to promote the league if this is their thinking.

Would have been 5-7K. Only worth doing if it's 10K plus.

You're probably right. I worry that Sturt v Eagles at Unley might only get 4-5K max. I hope I'm wrong of course, it'd be great to see it packed out. Possibly holds about 7,000 these days. I reckon not having it at AO will take away the prestige and result in a smaller crowd.

I agree that it would probably take a bit off the crowd. Stiff on the players as well who've earned the right to play on AO.

I am going to disagree, I think the ANZAC Day game at Unley will be fantastic.

With the match on a Tuesday (ie not on a weekend / long weekend) not many will be away.

It doesn't take many people to gave a good atmosphere at Unley, a crowd 6-7K would be awesome.

PLUS it should also mean a good income generator for Sturt.

Why should the Premier give up a home game with it's resultant gate, bar & canteen income?

Instead they should be rewarded with hosting the biggest game of the minor round...... good move for mine.

Good luck to the blues, they deserve a big turn out which I reckon they will get.
To me they are the new trend setter SANFL club and maybe looking at a successful era ahead.
They seem to tick all the boxes around club structure, coaching and player quality.
