Maybe its just that Henley cant secure the stars??

You are also wrapped the div 1 teams are equal to div 7 teams and div 1 remains an offical bore so you down there in div 7 can remain significant. If you cant have massive crowds due to having no one to come watch then no other club should either

Lame ass backyard salary caps.

its not about the gummies at all its about the C9AFL as a whole and the enormity of talent departing

why would someone like you give a toss about players going to country when no one with any real talent will ever come to your club

all the hard work that goes into C9AFL to make it great, the whole thing is shrinking cos the majority of players with any real talent have no choice but to leave via the back door and drive 300kms for a game of footy

but div 1 has the same salary cap as div 7, likely because the 50 clubs from div 3 down voted against div 1 & 2 having bigger salary caps

i say - bring back the SAFA and div 1 & 2 clubs create their own premier association again lol :D

There is merit in both arguments. An x AFL/SANFL player could head to Mitchell Park to play with mates, and for very very little $$$. A player who wants to head to Div 1, then that's a whole new ball game. His training commitment is higher, his subs outlay is higher and the club expectation is much higher. So if the Div 1 club can only pay him a max of $400 a game and he can get triple that elsewhere, then off he goes. I do believe the cap should be scaled to divisions. There are a lot of high quality players getting big bucks in nearby Vic leagues, but only because it's offered. The APPS is working but it's still a work in progress IMO.

Pretty handy pick-ups for Goodwood with the addition of the Folk music trio 'Jack Whaley & the Carters boys'

Well I haven't posted in a while but it's fair to say these forums have become ghost towns.

Well "Bathy" has been out and about on his holidays and caught up with a bunch of the boys from various clubs and I'm sitting on too many juicy nuggets not to go bang and try and breathe some life into what was once a great place for banter and b/s.

I will start in Div 1 with this...

Van Berlo to PAC. He won't play every game but I'm hearing he will play a few and be right for finals. PAC are the master of balancing the books as we saw last year so maybe he will rock up to a first 18 training or game and get some generous remuneration for that.

theyll find a way to remove him from the league

talented well travelled big name footballers are not welcome in c9afl

div 1 standard of football must be equivalent to div 7 football

super stars can go elsewhere please - but you still must pay $15 to get into a grand final to watch no one.

Can we crack 10 separate reports of Van Berlo to PAOC in this thread before the clearance is lodged?

Well we could talk about the 6 guys that PNU have picked up. Norwood-Morialta and Charles Campbell scholarships coming out the wazoo.
Would you care to elaborate.

Correct. My mate at the Falcs said he was on a SANFUL list. They have also added a few more Ex-SANFUL Norwood players. Josh Donahue is going to be a great get. A reckon he was a Junior there. A couple have returned to the flock also. No doubt they will be round the mark. Definitely have had a targeted recruiting regime over Summer.
