2017 B Grade Coach

Due to a change in personal circumstances and an increase in work commitments Graham Tonkins is unable to commit to the B grade role in 2017 and we are currently seeking his replacement.

This is an exciting position to guide a great bunch of hungry players looking to take those final steps towards a premiership.

Please indicate your interest initially by contacting our Premiership A Grade coach Rod Mitchell on 0427580219.

Thanks from all of us at FHFC to Graham Tomkins for all his support to the coaching team, support staff and senior playing group at Flaggies in the past and we look forward to seeing him at the footy in the future.

Cheers,

MatteeG (on behalf of FHFC)

Interesting discussion on the Ammos Division 7 forum, are Marion really recruiting Mitchell Park B-Graders on cash???

Ditchy wrote:Now the SFL is a shocking standard. Absolutely woeful except for 3 or 4 sides. But why on earth would Marion be doing recruiting divvvy 7 reserves footballers for $$$$$$ to play A grade footy? Hackham, OSB Lonsdale, Marion and a good number of other clubs playing lists in the SFL are just plain awful. You just wonder how they can keep going as a 14 team comp when only 4 sides are any good.

I just worry how long the SFL can hold on for to be honest. Once a good competition. Even Brighton and Morphies are only divvvy 3 and 4 by the ammos standard. Flaggies, Morphett Vale and Noarlunga would be divvy 2 at their very best. Probably 2 of 3 being divvy 3 ammmos standard.

They would knock over anyone in Div 4 by at least 7-8 goals on any day.

That's what people think. Reality is that there are no easy games in the SAAFL because of the relegation system. Maybe one bad side per grade.
In the SFL a side only has to be ready to play every 4 weeks because of so many ordinary sides. Maybe 10 sides who are no good out of 16.
Another thing is that when clubs get injuries in the SFL they can rest players for 3 or 4 weeks to get them right for the next tough game
In the ammos they won't get that luxury of being able to bring players back when they feel like it.
The overall depth of each club is tested and an A grade side needs an extra 10 players of A grade standard to get through a season.
That's the big difference between the two leagues and people never look at those aspects. Brighton will struggle to make the finals in divvy 3

What we can safely say is that the standard of the SFL is diabolical after the first 3/4 clubs and those 3 or 4 clubs who are reasonable would be no higher than mid divvy 2 or divvy 3 of the ammos. There wouldn't be 2 many people who'd think the standard of the SFL is very high at all

In 4-6 years we will know just how good these clubs are as they will all be playing in the SAAFL, thats if the SFL don't amalgamate with HFL

Interesting state of affairs if this is correct. No longer aligned with the club and I've asked some who are still there what is happening, I'm unsure if they even know the story.

I do know players who have played A grade for the club, who left on good terms and aren't even playing anywhere at the moment haven't even received as much as a phone call to come back and play, yet they (allegedly) go and buy B graders. Zero logic in that decision.

Marion's biggest problem is the BOARD, always has been always will be. Last years "BOARD" was the worst in my time at the club. They had one board member who's position was "handyman", same bloke interfered with team selection's on match day several times, he had the Oval lights turned off at training one night because he thought the B grade coach was training them to long (funny thing is, one of the reasons they will tell you they sacked the A grade coach was, that he wasn't training them hard or long enough) and the list goes on, and this is just one of them.

Think you will find the "incentives" have a clause regarding training attendance, i.e % of $$ off if you don't attend. Hopefully the recruits have a good training standard!!! :-k

Spot on mate. Dont think paying players who play a grade is a new idea.

So true. Nothing will change unfortunately. Hasn't for 15 years. Lots of burnt bridges there. Just a vicous circle of getting in a new coach and players, then let the back stabbing from the so called "BOARD" begin. And now one of the ringleaders has been appointed PRESIDENT (again)! Players come and go like a revolving door. Sad thing is the junior program is being run very well. Hopefully one day it will filter to the top.

Christies Beach 2017 B-Grade Coach

Due to family reasons, 2016 B-Grade premiership coach Greg Borkowski has had to step away from the B-Grade role in 2017. As a result a replacement is being sought. The Christies Beach Football Club will be forever grateful to Greg for leading a side that broke the ice to win our first premiership in any grade since 1994.

This is an opportunity to join one of the fastest growing clubs in the state at an exciting time, and help lead the club to further improvements in 2017 and beyond.

Please contact Club Coach Todd Bache (0410 334 462) for further information.

mate our A's and B's are nothing to worry about ... 60lads on the first night tonight with apparently around 10-15 apologies... The main thing we need to work on is try to feed through some more numbers through our junior ranks which hasn't been great in the last couple of seasons

Pretty sure MF wasn't talking about you Cobra boys. Another club struggling- would have to be Hackham, OSB or Marion surely?

I would suggest a new draw will be coming out for the A and possibly B grade.
My mail is 12 to 14 players have pulled the pin, with 6-8 traveling towards the "rocky coast" for season 2017.

Not great signs for Hackham in 2017.

SOME TALKING POINTS for 2017;

Is Nobe$ staying in the goal square at the Saints or goneski?
Have Emus hung onto recruits - Hodge, Corrie and Ijcsen?
Have Bushpigs lost a few off their solid list? Some seeking opportunities elsewhere?
Flies - 3 x seniors gone country Vic, couple retirements also, will Vick need to blood a heap of youth in17?
Shoes - are the ol boysz suiting up again Mott, Caudle Copestick Peach?
Which one of Saints Cove Porties Valley to be the big improver in 2017?

Will the SFL finally supply enough cold beer Grand Final day in 17!!!

As far as I know only 1 player from the premiership team not going on again, and that's from retirement.

Yep Saul has retired, yeah dunno about B graders/fringe. I have heard there are 4 guys trying out at SANFL clubs, whether they make it or not is another story.
