Not sure how this would need to be written in the rules mind you.

This is a great idea maybe an outright where team takes 20 wickets is worth 30 and a 'contrived' outright is worth only 5 pts for the 2nd innings. That would not give teams any incentive to declare behind (like Prospect did yesterday) in an attempt to get 10pts whereas a draw would have got them 5 so it's the same, unless they are more confident of chasing a target than holding on for a draw (which would probably never be the case).

In this case, West Torrens and Kensington would've receive 30pointts for this weekend (took 20 wkts), whereas Port would have got 25 - or in reality have got 20 for a first innings win or 5 each if it was a draw. Actually should be presented to the SACA because that's got legs Tony Clifton for CEO

Hate the "contrived" outrights too. Unfortunately there will be many more attempts during the last few rounds as teams try and scrape into the Finals, especially against teams that have nothing to lose.

And this week could be similar issues, with so much rain about and games likely to be affected by rain, if any game gets under way Saturday, the following week is played under 2 day rules, so teams either set up a deal where they face 50 odd overs each, or play for a draw, or try and skittle a team quickly.

Would love to see SACA change all games to 1 day games next week to make it fairer, but doubt that will happen. Will be no play in 3rd and 4th Grades with no covers anyway.

They won't be changing it. Cricket committee are sick of debating rule changes and they don't have a January meeting anyway.....

Looks like the first wave of rain has mostly slid south of Adelaide. Bit of rain falling but nothing too major. Will we be as lucky tomorrow?

Glenelg 252 vs TTG 2/69
Kensington 167 vs West Torrens 3/75
Woodville 2/419 dec (Weatherley 220*) vs Prospect 1/52
Adelaide 129 vs Port 5/105
Sturt 117 vs Uni 5/102
Northern vs Southern ?

A couple of getable run chases for TTG and WT. Port consolidating their top 4 spot. Looks like the weather helped the bowlers around town except at Woodville!

Anyone out at Northerns today? Story was Southerns made long journey out North but no covers on pitch, so no play? If true, that is disgraceful and sums up where Northerns are as a Club at the moment!

Makes for some interesting finishes next week, with couple of outright results looming.

Northerns have a cover that must be joined in the middle more often than not it leaks....

Thought all 1st Grade Ovals should have full covers that do the whole square, and SACA brought them all? Just some Clubs too lazy to put them on.

Why are Glenelg and Sturt playing their Quarter final of the One Day Cup today? Is it because Gliderol Stadium is being used for first Shield game in February?

Carey tons up again, Sturt may be bit unlucky as him and Sayers may not have been allowed to play on Jan 29 before Shield game started.

Good luck to the Under 15 Breezair Scorpions as they fly out to Canberra to compete in the national championships.

I think we can match it with the big two with a top 4 finish should be par.

LOL, the team manager runs a tight ship, I think the girls need it at this age, I've seen a few talented girls quit cricket all together in the past few months as they lose interest, it scares me with my daughter so I've encouraged her to lessen her load for cricket commitments this season and find more time to enjoy life and spend with her friends.
It seems to be working, her A Grade and state commitments have been demanding enough without being too much of a chore.

No Under 17 semi finals today? Cancelled due to heat I guess. Adelaide vs Kensington grand final, same as last season.

It's fairly simple, obviously requires you to guess the next results but that's not too hard.

What's the example, I'll put up some ranges for you.

Must have been an incredible game at Woodville. Chasing 2/419 declared Prospect put on 288 for the 2nd wicket and then over 100 for the 9th wicket - getting to 8/418 before losing the last 2 wickets for 0 to be all out 1 run short!

All other games as expected - West Torrens go 25 points clear on top after a match winning partnership between Kelly and Johnson after slumping to 7/100 chasing 167 against Kensington.
