AFLW - Womens AFL

Talk on the national game

Re: AFLW - Womens AFL

Of course it's compromised, 18 teams, uneven "fixture" etc. The reserves debate. *sigh*

The AFL fund the NEAFL through Sydney, GWS, Gold Coast and Brisbane. That works for the AFL and they won't be changing that.

The VFL, SANFL and WAFL serve the rest of the country. The AFL are more than happy with the state league set up and they won't be having an AFL reserves any time soon.

Why would the AFL want to have to fund a national reserves men comp, and be the ones forking out for travel, accommodation, etc for a second rate competition that already exists and isn't really broken?

Haha.

Post that in the no AFL in the SANFL thread on the SANFL board and sit back with the popcorn.

Free entry to the AFLW this season for Jim05 etc with the exception to some double-headers.

Jim, tomorrow there will be a heap of posts in here about the 14,000 that were at tonights game plus the TV ratings and you and I are dinosaurs etc etc stuck in the past blah blah blah I can see it already.

The fact its the first game of the season and everyone has free entry they'll probably get near 15,000 in, but lets see how long these numbers last! I'm tipping not long at all.

Personally I don't want to see it fail but have zero interest until the standard gets to a point where it's worth watching which probably won't be in my lifetime. The constant ramming of the AFLW down the throat by the media has put plenty off it aswell.

Of course the standard will be poor, but who cares.... That will improve and this is a great stage for that... You say you don't want it to fail, but every post you out on here regarding this topic is a dig...
I personally don't get why the hate, considering it opens up the doors for girls to play in a national comp...
Considering you are bimbers fan I would have thought any news which doesn't include you team would be great...

I don't see the product being there. Don't necessarily want to see it fail as such, but like Jim its certainty something that I have zero interest in.
