If i purchased a boundary rope for cricket next season, do you think it's likely to get flogged by some local moron?

Yes, assuming you're planning on leaving it at the oval's edge. Like every village has its idiot, so too does every suburb have a local moron.

It's for this very reason my club hasn't gone down the rope path. Having said that our old scoreboard never got touched nor have our sight screens apart from the odd Graffiti tag...

That 's not a bad idea! I had thought about maybe getting 'U' bolts and "pegging" it down is spots, but cant really do that because need to be able to move it for the council to mow.

Not sure where i would tie it off to something though lol.. might have to look into it haha!

When renting, what needs to be done for a routine inspection? Last time I rented I went a bit overboard and treated it like a final inspection, having one mid-week with 5 people in the house along with the erratic weather we've had during the week I wasn't so anal this time.

The agent should mainly be worried about things like the condition of walls, carpet/flooring, that the garden is being kept in good nick etc
I wouldn't worry if the house is a bit of a mess due to daily living.

Yeah, that was my take on it, the lesbians that lived in it before us treated it like shit.

Really depends on the agent.

My brother and I had one that checked under the bar of soap in the shower for mushy soap. She also squeezed in between the carport wall and side fence to point out a cobweb, which we had to remedy before the next inspection.

Our current one comes in, looks to make sure all the walls are still intact, takes a photo of the back lawn (because she's required to take at least one picture), talks shit for 15 minutes and leaves.

We used to go overboard (bleaching the bathroom, etc) but now its a tidy up and make sure its freshly vacuumed.

We've never got less than 100% of the bond back when we've moved out.

I know that they will be pedantic, when we moved in there was a 55 page inspection report with 4 photo's on each page. I think it's a precautionary inspection as we've only been there two months, they wanted it a fortnight ago but I told them it was unreasonable considering we had Christmas and the kids were still on holidays, pretty hard to keep the place spick and span with three teenagers slothing around 24/7.

Our current one didnt do an ingoing inpection, but we requested they come in and do it properly because there were marks left from the last people moving their shit out.

The first inspection was after 5 months too, so we're pretty happy. The rents a bit high, but the owner pays all the water, so it probably evens out to a cheaper place over the year.

And the toilet seats were glued down.

They were fair pigs, it's a beautiful house and it looked horrid when we inspected it, they refused to leave the house for the inspection too, it was a bit freaky having chicks appear out of walk in's while we were touring through, lucky I didn't check the knicker drawers this time.

On the other hand, I didn't know that they were lesbians until we got back in the car and the missus told me, I quickly did a u-turn much to her disgust.

They weren't like any that I've stumbled across in the odd movie that may have been accidentally placed in my DVD player.

How would you go about requesting your long service leave to be paid out after 7 years (pro rata) to an owner who is as stingy as they come?
