He looks a natural a bit like Robbie Gray.

Because he has no interest in going to another level and wants to sit around goals.
Not my words, words of current Senior Port Player.

Started the internal trial in the middle, spent considerable time in there. Started the 1st GNIBNTEJUBTNJ game in the middle, spent considerable time in there.

So why wasn't he played through the midfield last year when you were in trouble?

Probably considered preferrable to play him up forward last year, due to finger injury - http://m.portadelaidefc.com.au/news/201 ... as-surgery

ffs Kochie they are entitled to wear the Guernsey they normally wear against Port home or away, which is their home jumper. Move on. Stop being so petty for fear they may take some of the China market from you.

From Ruccis article,

This morning on radio Koch said :
“We bought all home club commercial and otherwise rights for this game,”

“It is as simple as that.

“The AFL is going to have to rule on that.

“It is for the AFL to make a decision — and we will abide by it.”

“Gold Coast is playing silly buggers ... and we are the club that is leading the AFL into China. We have bought this game — and paid good money for it. We are the ones who are committed for the next sort of 10 years to play a game in China each year. We had a number of other clubs that wanted to play us this year and there is no shortage of clubs that want to leverage our work in China.

“As I have said to (Gold Coast chairman) Tony Cochrane, if you wear the red-and-gold jumper it will be the last time we will play you in China. It is up to you.

The AFL has repeatedly refused to enter the debate saying the league has Gold Coast listed as the home team in China — and the Suns have the right to wear their home jumper.

Koch says that rule has been superseded by a contract between the two clubs. Gold Coast responds there is no such written agreement.

Just because you have a home game it doesn't give you the rights to say what guernsey an opponent can wear surely. The two guernseys don't clash so I can't see the AFL stepping in and for all Kochies bluster it is the AFL who decides who plays where not the club. If Gill wants GC to play Port in China for the next 20 years that will be what happens especially now a AFL plant has been installed as the Suns CEO

So Port don't get to pick who they play and where? Surely they have a contract stating that they can...it must be with the contract GC signed regarding their playing colours.

The 'issue' is that being the away team doesn't mean Gold Coast have to wear there 'clash' Guernsey as there is no clash between the two guernseys.

This sounds like another classic example from Port of being the masters at signing a major deal that suits them at the time.

Then realising they have read the t&c's properly only to claim foul play

Thinking AFL licence deal, Adelaide Oval deal and now this

Mark Evans has already said they will be wearing their home strip and acknowledged it is a big advantage for the China dollar that they won't be forfeiting.

To be honest, as a Port tragic, I couldn't give a continental about the Sun's and whatever guernsey they wear. If Gold Coast can make some money, sponsorships, and Chinese members from this venture, good on them. Kochy, it's not that big a deal. How about we focus on the match, and try to be successful on-field FFS.

I reckon it's marketing at it's finest. People can't stop talking about it, AFL.com, news.com, Facebook, Twitter, the 'Tiser, all of them running the story for days, people who couldn't care less about Port or the Suns getting fired up and throwing their 2c worth in. Money can't buy publicity like that.

Time to get on with the footy now though.

Not sure anyone would sign off on a marketing campaign making the club president come across as a sook is a good idea.
