Yeah, went to The Sailmaster around May last year and whist the food wasn't bad, I wasn't really impressed. I felt like I was dining in the 1980s. Service was bit patchy too.

**** that for a game of soldiers.

They got there a few minutes before us and had a look at the menu. Since the change of ownership, the menu has gone from three pages down to one.

The weekday specials are gone. The basic steak and mash is $38.

They called us as we were driving there and asked for a better recommendation. We ended up at the Prince of Wales. We were the only ones at the place at 8pm. $12 schnittys, free run on the buffet. Staff attended to our every need, including a gluten intolerance. (a real one, not one of these trendy ones).

Cant speak highly enough of the place. Thanks @Booney for bringing it to my attention.

Some friends went to the Saily recently and were thoroughly shocked by how crap it was, which I'd heard from others recently too.

I haven't been there in ages, but in the 90's it was an awesome place to eat and the food was sensational, at reasonable prices. Shame to hear it has slipped so far over the years.

Went to the Greenock Creek Tavern on saturday night

Got the 500g "Steiny" Porterhouse schnitzel, was probably the best ive ever had. Was close to an inch thick, and the crumbs were awesomely crispy.

Came on top of the chips which is an acknowledged gripe, but I only ate about 4 of them otherwise i wouldnt have got through it.

Beer selection was ok, especially with a couple of the Greenock Brewers beers there, but a few more of the local barossa beers in the fridge wouldnt hurt.

Meals took a bit of time to come out but the place was very busy so that was fine.

Would definitely go back, 8/10

The Taminga Hotel has the biggest salad and veg bar I've seen...also has an ice cream machine. The Mon-Sat lunch price is reasonable, but the other times are a bit steep.

Food is pretty average imo but there is a playground for kids too so if that's of interest it's probably worth it.

Same owners as the southern and Gawler arms in Gawler. If you have been to either you know what to expect

A little like the ALH group of pubs. Same menu at all pubs. Can't say it's bad at all because it isn't, but if you don't smash the salad and veg bar it's overpriced because they definitely factored it in

Plenty.
Personally I rate Seed Winehouse very highly and haven't been there for awhile but Skillogolee used to do awesome lunches, not sure if they do teas now or not but the lunch is served outdoors under the trees in a quite nice setting and the food was amazing. Last time there I had a ginger duck curry that was sensational. Skillogolee is at Sevenhill only a few minutes from Clare

Ask and you shall receive:

am Bays wrote:Reillys Wines Cellar Door and Restaurant at Mintaro

Called in there on Sat for some wine tasting and had wisely pre-booked for Lunch.

Nice "cool" day in the Clare Valley so I had the potato and bacon chowder, the missus mushroom rissoto balls in a ragut (the daily specials). Both absolutely sensational. We both wanted more but after our full buffet breakfast at the Novetel Barossa we both didn't want to over indulge.

Our lunches, two wines and two coffees came to $45.

People on the table next to us had ordered an entree and main of Osso Bucco which looked and smelt devine

Our food was 9/10

The wine tasting was sensational before hand. Highly recommed the 2013 Reillys Shiraz and the Missus made me purchase two bottles of their Pinot Noir. Their staff are really friendly and helpful. Service was first class.

Do yourselves a favour get up there, the Clare Valley is sensational in winter.

artisans restaurant on Wendoree Rd was good but on searching the www just now it may have closed
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Not a restaurant review as such, but had a mates wedding on Saturday at the Grange Golf Course and feel compelled to give them a good word.

Have been there for a few functions over the last 20 odd years, and the food has never failed to deliver. This time around was no different, pre-dinner finger food included: Chicken Sticks, Dim Sum, Prawn Spring Rolls (these bastards were outstanding), Pizza and a few others I din't see or try.

Wedding Menu offered Calamari on some sort of Asian Salad as an entree, and whilst the squid lacked a bit in flavour, the salad more than made up for it.

Main course offered a choice of Chook or Cow .. Went the Cow, and it was brilliant. On a bed of spuds, with Asparagus, Broccolini and a Red Wine Jus, just mouth watering.

The Dessert was a slice of Wedding Cake (thick kinda chocolate mudcake) with Ice Cream and Raspberry Coulis - I dont usually do dessert but glad I gave this one a go.

Their restaurant there is apparently very reasonably priced, and also appears in the Entertainment Book I believe, so will definitely be getting back there for a feed, and highly recommend to anyone and everyone.
