Agree backing away was the worse option

Needed to use his feet and either pad away or pay, the other option being to sweep which his very effective at

I was just thinking about the sweeping option but the length that Ashwin is bowling here, just back of a good length is perfect for him and makes it near-on impossible for the batsman to get down and sweep him effectively.
