Went to First Choice and got a carton of Coopers Pale. Safe bet. Got a sixer of Monteith's Pale Ale for $10 as one of the specials for spending a certain amount, nice drop. Thought I'd try a bottle of something new while I was there, bought a 500ml bottle of Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier. Printed on the bottle is 'The World's Oldest Brewery'. The bottle I had must've come from their first ever brew, fu***n shithouse.

Not a fan of wheat beers? They are awesome, including that one.

The Monteiths pale was a little disappointing imo. Certainly drinkable bit nothing special.

Coopers pale is always great though

Maybe I got a dud, never been a big wheat beer drinker. I thought the Monteith's was quite drinkable, after the wheat beer anything was going to taste ok.

There are so many now it is getting complicated.

More and more I'm moving towards Hahn Superdry, which is readily available on the odd occasion I want a beer.
A friend who has just moved here from the US with his Aussie wife is also becoming fond of it.
(He thinks any Aussie beer is an improvement on what he could get in the US.)

if you are comparing superdry to bud then he may have a point, but the US also makes the best beers in the world

Anyone been to the woolshed brewery out near Renmark?
Went there a couple of weeks ago and it was pretty good.

They have about 6 beers on tap and about 3 alcoholic lemonades.
I went the paddle where you get 4 drinks in a timber carrier(paddle).

Had several of these throughout the day !!

Good day out if you're ever in the Riverland.

Exactly a year ago we parked our houseboat there and enjoyed a couple of hours. The Hard Lemonade was awesome (it was over 40 when we were there) and bought a couple of cartons of it, it lasted about 24 hours.

Grow a beard, wear some salmon coloured shorts and put some lemon in it, I'm sure it'd taste better then.
