Can't fill a b grade go back to C grades for a season and regroup.

It's not like the country where there's a lack of population which would make this necessary

How about the opposition lend them some top up players, they can turn their guernsey inside out?

PS: I was joking.

We did that for Pooraka or Para Hills a long time back, lent them a young B grader. We jokingly called him Judas that night for playing for the opposition and that name has stuck every since.

We did that in a C Grade game a few years back. Had 3-4 of our blokes play a quarter for Para Hills. From memory they only had 14 and that included a few Under 16s helping out. We had the full compliment of 25. Seemed in everyone's interest.

My lad played against Pooraka a couple of years ago in the juniors who were a couple of players short, no kids seemingly wanted to go across to help them out so for the last quarter the coach had to send two players that were willing to go across, in the end of them kicked two late goals and we surrended a 21 point 3 quarter time lead to lose by 2 points.

I think it's a good idea.

Although I would make it so you can have a 6 or 8 man bench if you do have the numbers

But srs.

It could work. You could have a minimum of 16, but a maximum of 21 still. So that clubs with the numbers can still pick a "full" side but on the field its only 16 v 16.

This could mean those clubs that have only been able to field one side might've been able to field two. Like us in 2014.

Ultimately, it would mean more control over the integrity of the competition and avoid Salisbury West/North Pines and Mitchell Park/Flinders Uni type situations.

Would also mean that ultimately less blokes are on the field playing football.

Where would it start? If Salisbury North can't field a full 21 compliment in 1R should it be in 1R? Would this be a bit odd given other 1R clubs have sides going down to E/F Grade?

Also, bugger having only 16 on the field in some of the bigger ovals around the place.

Clubs struggling for numbers??? maybe that is a sign that there simply are not enough blokes playing the game any more due to outside inflences such as family balance, work pressures
