Hearing that PAOC have lost 8 of the 22 that played in last years GF, and 9 more from the B-grade as well.
If that's true, I'd suggest that ROCs and PNU have done more than just catch up.

Good thing they have a D7 Grand Finalist and D7R premiership side worth of depth!

Back to?

Pretty sure he only shows up in clearances because Norwood will only give one-year permits.

Big in for Uni.

Interesting given their alleged attitude on player payments given he hardly has a reputation of playing for nothing ...

Went down for a look at the PNU v Sals Nth trial on saturday, both teams looked good. Unsure why everyone is writing off the hawks? A Grade looked like they havent lost 2 many players, depth might be their issue if injuries happen.

Gullies by 28 points over Modbury. 18.11 to 14.7. Very brave effort after being down at 3/4 time. Ran over the tiring Hawks. Red cards to Alex McKay, Clint Dow and a Modbury player.

Bloody big win by the Gullies given probably two most important players carded.

PNU beat Uni by three goals. Black's looked bloody good

South Gawler played Uni's in a trail a couple of weeks ago and were very impressed with them. A few players thought they were the most professional outfit they had seen

Word is the red cards were yellow cards infringements at best and a case of umpires being incredibly over officious

We called the game live, well the second half anyway and the Clint Dow red card from a neutral point of view was nothing short of absurd. Knocked a guy over after he took a mark. Nothing malicious, no damage. It was vexing. Barely a 25. Bloke looked to milk it.

I missed McKays but got a straight red and was sent for the day. It did cause an all in argy-barge so something happened but again no one got belted.

It was hard to get clarity on the card situation but there was reds and yellows all over the place in a game that was NOT played with Spite and was a good physical contest.

Overall the umpires did a good job but certainly a touch trigger happy on the cards.

Good game of footy with the Hawks looking far too good in the third but Peter Persinos inspired a fight back with 3 clutch goals in the third to get the Gullies in striking distance and they found another gear in the last.

How big was the crowd????
2017, 2019 & 2020 PREMIERS
RICHMOND, RICHMOND, RICHMOND.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

Very big. It can be hard to estimate. Cars parked all the way down Steventon Rd. Obviously cars completely around the oval with a dozen or so large groups of spectators congregating in groups.

If I had to guess I'd say just over a thousand.

I agree. The game was played in good spirit with a couple spit fires in the first half which you would come to expect in a local derby.

IMO the umpires didn't seem to understand the card system with all cards barely warranting yellow.... Dow came in late on a modbury mark and received a straight red... the modbury player got straight up with no injury so at worst 25m penalty. Same incident occur with a modbury player and he only received a yellow, again 25m penalty. Mckay was involved in a scuffle after a modbury goal and was given straight red, from what I heard he through a couple jumpers so if he connected then maybe a yellow card but surely a high free kick at worst. I didn't see the modbury red card in the pocket where the ttg player stayed down for a couple minutes and came off but return minutes later... I think the umpires were just to trigger happy on the red cards because I've seen a lot worse where no sanction was given.

I thought it was modburys to lose in the third as they were clearly on top for 2 quarters but to gullies credit that just kept pegging them back. Was all one way for the gullies in the last as modbury seemed to run out of steam. Was a cracking high scoring contest
