Some interesting results to start the year. Aldinga coming home with a wet sail to almost knock off Porties. Is that an improvement from Aldinga this year or have Porties dropped off?

Close game at Cove as well.

I don't think anyone could pick Morphies to lose by as much as they did.

And now, a week off before anyone plays again. Hard to gain momentum in the stop-start season this will be.

Week 1 - 3 v 6 (Sat) & 4 v 5 (Sun) - both losers eliminated
Week 2 - 1 v 2 (Sat) & week 1 winners (Sun)
Week 3 - Loser 1 v 2 versus winner of other week 2 game (Sat)
Week 4 - GF between the last 2 standing

Puts a huge amount of importance on finishing in the top 2! Finish 3rd and you could be out in the first week.

With the gap between the good and the bad in this comp, finishing third would have to be easiest final in week one

Dear Marion Football Club,

Continually lodging clearances for Mitchell Park footballers without speaking to the Mitchell Park Football Club about why we're continually denying them will do no one any favours. You can't "sneak" them past hoping the one week limit will hit as our Football Director gets an email every time you lodge them.

Please speak to our President - Shane Lynch or Football Director - Matthew Davidson, about arranging their transfer. They are looking forward to your phone call.

Kind Regards,

Morell. Marion don't talk to there own members, staff, volunteers, and supporter, they get their hitman THE HANDYMAN. aka The Fisherman. aka The Figurehead. aka The Iceman. aka THE CLUB man. to do his thing on you, and you wouldn't want that. If he decides to turn your lights out, mate, your in the dark quicker than JAYS GREEN POWER in a thunderstorm. All this crap aside, they don't talk to people, and/or think much of our forum.

Surely they don't need Mitchell Parks permission to lodge clearances, they can't lodge one without the players permission though so obviously the players want to go. Aren't you of the opinion that if a player wants to leave then let him. Are you saying if Marion speak to your president or football director they will then be cleared.

There is only 2 reasons you can use for refusing a clearance. A) If a player is contracted B) If a player is unfinancial.
None of them would be contracted so it's not hard to work out. ;)

Let's be honest...... there aren't many other clubs trying to sign these blokes. That would suggest either they aren't much good or they are asking for money which they aren't worth. None of these guys are gong to help either club be successful Marion will finish bottom and MP won't make the finals so who cares.

Heard yesterday that this year's Association game is to be played at the Morphett Vale Oval. Interesting move, good for the Emus to host such an event.

Probably a plus for the SFL team, but why Morphett Vale? Another baffling SFL decision.......
